I've heard that they had a right to see it. Choosing not to view it is the same thing as doing nothing if they did.
I dont buy that they didnt see it. They didnt want to see what was on that tape

If that's the case, I agree with you. But it's all just speculation at this point.

Comments from Goodell & NFL:

"Roger Goodell has announced that based on new video evidence that became available today he has indefinitely suspended Ray Rice."

"We requested from law enforcement any and all information about the incident, including the video from inside the elevator," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Monday morning. "That video was not made available to us and no one in our office has seen it until today."

I think there are more shoes to drop on this issue. The all knowing commissioners office did not ask for this video from the Casino. (i.e. give it to me or we are putting all of your casinos off limits to all NFL personnel). I for one do not believe that no one in the NFL office did not see the tape. Same for law enforcement. How could they not get the tapes> Someone will spill the beans.

Lastly, who pressured the young lady to say she was the aggressor? She is probably a basket case.

If the NFL couldn't get the tape when determining his punishment, then I sincerely doubt the Ravens organization could get it. The police didn't want to release it for whatever reason

They had to at least see the half of the video that has him dragging her limp body out of the elevator. The only piece that is new is you actually see him cold-DNA rifle her. It was pretty obvious that's what happened based on the previous (known) footage. She was concious on the way into the elevator for crap's sake.

The video is disturbing. Gotta say, he's damn lucky she's not my sister.

Why would they have a right to see it? They are third party private citizens, and it is criminal evidence. They wouldn't have any more right to see it than if you or I wanted to see it.

So I agree that this leak is probably the first time they've actually seen it.

Of course, what was publically available was certainly enough anyway.

Exactly. Unless you're on Ray Rice's legal team, they don't have to turn it over. It's called Discovery

He did a worse slapping around a pregnant woman. And Harbough had the BALLS to play him. If we get no other wins this year, I really hope we lay the boom on the Whiners and blow them out, with a couple of bulldozing tackles on McDonald.
Harbaugh is so full of it. Google some of their defensive players. We obviously know about McDonald's incident.

The NFL doesn't care what you've been accused of so long as there isn't video evidence I guess.

Shame on me for watching CNN and just taking their word for it. Its been repeated that the NFL and Baltimore had access to it, but reading what's been said, it makes sense that they hadnt.

All's well that ends well.

I'd suspect this will be parlayed into Gordon's suspension being reduced here shortly.

I wasn't very clear in my previous post. The incident involving R. Rice is, indeed, the same. I was saying that S. A. Smith has looked dumb for far longer.
I see, and you are correct.(y)

It's possible that the team never saw the video. Rice had also told teammates, and presumably team officials, that he was defending himself.
I have to believe that the team nor the NFL has seen it until recently. The first video is inconclusive at best, even if it is sickening.

And I think you make a good point. He probably did relay to his teammates that he was defending himself. In his own sociopathic way, he probably believes that he was defending himself.

But in this video it looks to me like they had a prior argument, for which he couldn't wait till the elevator to resolve. As soon as he gets in there, he hits the button, makes a comment that he knew would piss her off and she comes after him.

So basically he knew her well enough to know the reaction he'd get, and no offense but her arms are short. You have to be really, really horrible at handling yourself not to be able to check that without slapping her head into the elevator wall.

Sure. She fell down and hit her head on the doorknob. Just ask her.

In all of this my heart goes out to her. Poor girl.

Typical response of an abused victim. They protect the abuser. She probably saw the $$$ literally flying out the window.

She did, knowingly and willingly. Hope she was in it for more than the $ cuz that meal ticket is done for at least a year or two.
Hell did you see her all hugged up on him at the first press conference? Talk about battered woman syndrome. I feel sad for that chick that she doesn't value herself more than that. I doubt that's the first time they've gotten physically involved like that either.

New about the Cheatriots' video and turned a blind eye, as well. Etc., etc., etc. . . Beating up on a woman is never a good idea when you're an NFL player.

.

would be great if this led to goodell resigning from his post. easy to burn tape of the patriots cheating and the nfl media towing the line but this one, he's got some answering to do.

IDK man. If that was Michael Sam and he had hit his boyfriend (husband?) I don't think it would have been an issue. I'm not saying what he did was ok, i just don't like the whole "but you don't hit a girl" excuse. Sure a lot of them are physically inferior (they don't like that word though), but at the end of the day the rule should say don't hit people...period. That goes for women, children, other men, etc.

Again, I am not saying what he did was ok. I am just spouting moral randomness.
