0-2 count on the batter, 1 out, runners on 1st and 2nd, bottom of 9th, Sox down by one run, an umpire that would not call a strike in the lower part of the strike zone all game long.........the home plate umpire calls time as the pitcher is in his delivery. The reason? The umpire said he the umpire needed a timeout! Only in Boston.

Why do you call is Boston BS? The city of Boston did nothing. Just because the ump had a rough game doesnt mean the city did anything.

In all seriousness though, who knows why he called TO but if you are blaming the game on that call then that seems a little over the top.

No the city of Boston just accepts the theft of SB36 as destiny and the subsequent serial instances of cheating throughout the years as business as usual with a league office in Kraft's back pocket with the destruction of evidence to cover it all up. Inflated egos and deflated footballs......and now lazy umpires in BS town. (But thank you. I will now channel this instance of rage towards power washing my house. )

Give me an example on par with what I posted. I've never seen that before. Calls time for himself as the pitcher is in his delivery of the 0-2 pitch.

I really don't think that is necessary but since it's a rainy day off, I might peruse the interwebz

Having a 4-0 lead really shouldnt come down to a bad ump call. Which it was BTW, but there are bad calls in every game it seems

Yeah but this wasn't even a call. The ump interfered with the game.

I find this whole thread pretty funny, but if you are serious the ump called time out by mistake. I mean it was a mistake, he is human. I dont think it deserved the reaction it received. It really had no effect on the game. Its not like the batter received some unfair advantage......but Im from Boston so what do I know :)
