I wrote this piece in January 2010, in the few days that followed the NFC Championship Game between the Vikings, where I was the backup quarterback, and the Saints. You may think this game is special for its place in the Saints’ bounty controversy, but to me it’s special for an entirely different reason: In all my experiences in professional football, it best encompasses the true soul of what the NFL is. For my own sanity, I wanted to express my thoughts on the game and take you inside what happened before, during and after it.

Long story... rest at..

Always been a fan of Favre. He truly enjoyed the game, and wanted to win. That game is one of the more upsetting games I've watched. It was just painful to watch them the following season.

That's where I am.

His retirement saga got old... but setting that aside... dude was a player. A gamer.

Man, that (January) 2002 playoff game against the Packers has to go down as one of the most MASSIVE collapses by a QB, or one of the best defensive showings of all time. 6 interceptions, 3 returned for TDs... Yeesh. Like someone already said in another thread, that was one of the most talented teams (2001 Rams) to not win a Superbowl.
