Man our WR is loaded now and two of the WR's I see a lot of support for are Spruce and Thomas, and you know what? We have no more room for them anymore. This has really giving me a revelation that in just one off season past Fishers we are going to be cutting some pretty damn decent WR's which we have not had in the last 10 seasons.

Guaranteed Roster WR's:

1. Watkins
2. Woods
3. Kupp
4. Tavon
5. Cooper
6. Reynolds

That's a hell of a WR lineup.
I guess you could make an argument if we keep 7 WR's it would be either Spruce or Thomas.

If we torch some teams the first 4-6 games hopefully that will bring some safeties up high again and then Gurley can be let loose!

We shall see. We have four games to make a decision on Thomas.

Honestly, if we're keeping Austin I wonder if that makes Cooper more expendable than, say, Thomas. Yes, Cooper can back up X and Z along with the slot but Thomas might be the better backup on the outside.

Isn't Cooper gonna be the rams kick returner?

I think the acquisition of Watkins affected Thomas more than any other wr. It kills me that it looks likely he will not make it. Couldn't wait to see him grow into a role with the rams. He just looks like he has "it".

I don't know if I have ever seen a player do so little and be so hyped up as Thomas. What are people looking at that makes him seem so special? His 3 career receptions in 15 active games? His catch per target percentage of 33%? He had one nice kick return for 41 yards but also fumbled a return on the 4 yard line and overall averaged less return benefit than if we kneeled in the end zone each kickoff.

Now that he has picked up the suspension and we acquired Watkins, he seems to me more expendable than the extra button in the mini plastic bag when you buy a button-up shirt.

There is no way one of those 6 don't make the 53, with the exception of a Tavon trade which for Aaron Donald reasons isn't out of the scope of possibilities. If I read it correctly there is 8 teams with more 20 million in cap space.

Time to make your move Spruce and Thomas. Who wanna get paid???

As the president of the mike Thomas fan club I might be a little biased, but I don't see him getting cut. Most people seem to look at his suspension as a bad thing but if anything it only helps him. Not counting against the 53 man roster for 4 weeks makes it pointless to cut him before he's unsuspended and injuries are inevitably going to happen. Whether any happen to a wr and for an extended enough time to justify adding Thomas to the 6 other WRs remains to be seen but he'll be around past preseason for sure

Does the addition of Watkins make Woods expendable? What would the cap numbers be?

I could be wrong, but Kupp and Woods seem like the same type of receiver. Thomas has explosiveness I don't see in Woods.

Cooper is a bowling ball. I hope we keep him.

As a Spruce fan, I have to disagree. I think Spruce has more talent than Cooper, and gives us more potential. And i also believe P. Cooper was a Fisher's pick, and Spruce a choice of Snead, maybe this is something to think about .. who knows..
... JMHO
But i trust in McSnead and GO RAMS!:football:

Spruce has absolutely nothing after the catch while Cooper can make some people miss after the catch and also gets better separation.

Different kind of receiver.
Or at least used differently.
In the last game Spruce caught some passes, short passes. He doesn't get big separation. On Coopers catches, the first in particular, you could see the explosiveness. Got an extra 8 or so yards after the catch. Maybe it was the route.
But, with two precise route runners guys in the fold and running with the ones Spruce sort of becomes redundant.
Watkins, Woods, Kupp, Reynolds, Austin are in for sure. Would be shocked if any of those guys don't stick. Makes that six spot tough. Very thick competition there. I'm thinking Cooper. But, who knows? I do have a feeling whether it is Thomas, Cooper or Spruce we will end up facing one of those cuts twice a year in division.

Spruce can't tackle though was struggling to take a man down...If he does make it he has to work on that.
