Better to execute than to be cute.
It was nice to get a solid win and not have to hold your breath at the end. The Rams D was in control most of the game. Solid run blocking and Stacy looked good.
I dont like the play calling at all on the TD pass to Pettis. The Rams had run the ball well on the drive, then get a first and goal and throw 3 times in a row. Doesnt make sense. The mentality is bad.
Also, the cute punt nonsense. I can only imagine that is to either set up something that might be uses in the future (run that alignment several times with a punt then eventually run a fake out of it) or it was designed to try and bring the returner up to avoid a punt return. Either way, it was cutsey wootsey nonsense that was a disaster.

Cook is not a complete player. This much is obvious. His non willingness to block really limits what you can do with him. He was outplayed by Kendricks yesterday. So, his mentality needs to change as well. The Rams are paying huge money for a role player at this point with Cook.

The big change from the first four games vs this past Sundays win ?.....it was the major insertions of the role of TE's Harkey & Kendricks. Cook role was more of a wide out receiver & main decoy. It's obvious that the Titans did not like the TE Jared Cook for a reason. We all know now what the reason was. What ever Cook brings to the passing game it minuses off those gains from the running game.

Depending on Cook to make critical run blocks (usually required from premium big $$$ paid TE's )...ends up in FAILURE! TE Harkey is the Rams best blocking TE by far! Often use of both of theses low cost TE's proved very effective in this important win. With Harkey & Kendricks uptick in the on field plays does cost Cook playing time.

Shotty's problem is he needs to have both TE's (Harkey & Kendrick) out there but he also needs Cook's big pass play abilities too. Cook's role may morph into more wide out role as this season moves on. Rams are paying Cook way too much $$$ to sit on the bench!

I got to agree with you.
Cook is being used much like he was for the Titans and we are expecting different results.
Rams need just to stop associating the word Tight End with Cook and only think of him as WR. Givens would be better at the TE role than what they're getting out of Cook.
Cook should never line up inside the hash marks.
