Givens looked like a stud, Quick used his body, and Lutzenkichen is a possible find, and Torry Holt says Steadman Bailey reminds him of himself.

Unfortunately Roger Saffold is HURT ONCE AGAIN,but even that is a semi bright spot since NOW his replacement will get the reps with the 1's. I have come to expect it so if he's gonna get hurt and BE lost ,now's the time

Apart from Bradford looking great as well I specifically noticed Wells and Long having good games.

You know what another bright spot is? And I'm still laughing about this.

I just rewatched the game on replay, and by the end of the 4th quarter, they switched over to the Rams Broadcasting Network because Kosar was clearly fully in the bag. I watched specifically to record his (Kosar's) comments about Lutz on that toe-tapper along the sideline, but then realized I wasn't listening to the CLE guys anymore because there was nothing but praise for the catch instead of confusion about how he was able to make one. Doofus.

Aside from that, I thought Quick looked really good but I'd like to see him against the 1's. Stedman Bailey is going to end up starting if he keeps plucking balls out of the air like his hands are made of rubber cement. Enormous catch radius for a guy so short. T.J. Mac looked pretty disciplined and I didn't see him get caught out of position once. Ogletree has a pursuit I haven't seen since Leonard Little, and I can't wait to see them turned loose in the third preseason game.

As long as Saffold is good to go by next week (if this were regular season), I'd consider that a bright spot.

LegaTron 2 for 2 from over 50 yards.

We didn't show our hand to anyone. Used the first game of preseason as it should have been. Fish knows what he's doing.

Good point on Softfold. Hope he's fine , but if not, at least we have time to patch the hole.

I found out Kosar's daughter does porn. Never knew that. I'm gonna restrain myself from listing the skills that I bet she inherited from her pops.

I won't have to watch another Cleveland game this year.

I am on vacation in 1000 Islands and have no tv, but I am ready to punch kosar in the grapes from all the comments I have read. Oh, and I am not at all surprised to hear that studman bailey is good, and pead sucked eggs. Really wish that kid had more smarts.

The local CBS affiliate is in a pissing match with Dish Network over a rate hike to carry their channel ,but NOT Direct TV, so Direct is getting ALL the Rams preseason games cuz they bought them. There is an add war over it both are buying add time on radio stations, ME? I got Direct ,so I get them all no extra charge and it' the Rams cast, so sadly I didn't get to hear Kosar go Mike Shannon only heard about it .
What'd be nice is if we could hear some of Bernie's (what is it about that name?) stupidity :ww: I mean if ya got no elevators ta worry about today :tooth:

Givens is so in tune with Bradford now. He expects the ball to come his way all the time and you can see that Sam totally trusts Givens. I am laughing a bit on this because there are some guys on other boards who still think Givens isn't even a WR2, never-mind a WR1. Same guys who were touting Salas. Old agendas die hard, I guess.

Bailey showed me a lot. He's a gamer. I remember the story that all the QBs were saying Bailey goes up and get the ball like a 6'3" guy. That's what I want in my WR2, not Pettis who is not consistent enough for my liking. Right now, I trust Bailey more than any WR on the team not named Givens.

I think Quick is coming along just fine. He is worth the time spent being patient with him because: a) he is getting better and b) he has huge upside.

DRich ran hard, he definitely raised his game. I trust him now expect in pass pro.

My favorite Chris Givens catch was his 1st one. Looked like an out route to me. He's becoming a complete WR not a DeSean Jackson go route WR.

My observations

Bradford was crisp and accurate - never seen him throw so well so consistently. Tavon Austin and Pettis cannot drop those passes, Daryl Richardson too. If D-rich caught that I think he'd still be running.

Pead looked a little rough early on (fumble) but I thought he rebounded well. The pass blocking between Pead and D-rich is night and day. Without question Pead is superior in this area. I rewatched them both today. Drich picked up a blitz good but was getting overpowered. Sam still got the throw off. Pead was stout in his pass blocking and was very good at identifying to pick up. Was effective with a chip block too. Stacy kind of whiffed on his chip. On Pead's indecisiveness to bring out that kick, I saw him yelling at I think Chase Reynolds..Wonder if there was some kind of communication error or if he was just really hesitant.

Between the tackles D-rich excelled tonight. Showed decisiveness and great burst. Ran with authority, really surprised me. Curious to see if they switch up Pead and Drich next week so Pead can get a shot behind the 1's.

Ogletree is faaaassstttttt....I now can see how he ran down T.Austin in camp. Looked decent in coverage, couple things you can nitpick on but I expect he'll get better. Definitely not worried about The Rg3's, Wilson, and Kaepernick scrambling with this guy. Looks like another solid tackler like Lauranaitis.

Quick made some really good acrobatic grabs - looked a lot better using his body and his route running.

On the Other QB's: I cringe at the thought of not having bradford.. not good,at all...

It was exactly this. Pead wanted to bring it out, but Reynolds told him to kneel it. He's anxious to prove himself and he didn't want to take a knee there so he hesitated.

I also think Pead rebounded well after the fumble. His pass blocking was great. I gotta rewatch it to find the specific play, but there was one where he picked up the LB and drove him out of the pocket and into the ground. It was awesome.

It was the play that Tavon Austin dropped the pass. He picked up #52, Jackson. It was 3rd and 5. 2nd qtr, 14:14 mark.

Barrett Jones played 26 snaps or something like that, and didn't look too bad. He's further along than I thought he was. He's still need to develop some, but I think it's a bright spot that he got the second most reps (Bailey got the first most with 27) out of all the rookies.

How did he look strength wise?

It was against scrubs, but he was moving pretty well, strength didn't seem to be an issue. There's still a ways to go of course, but I didn't hate what I saw. When I see the replay I'll get a better idea though.

Dr Ram is the best judge on the O-Line around here, hopefully he was/is able to add some commentary on it.

Yup. I see that. I would love to hear what Bruce and Holt think of his game.

Thought Quick, Givens and Bailey all looked good.

Pead showed me something after the fumble..could have tanked..but he didnt came back wit two strong runs and some nice pass blocking.

I think the Rams have found a keeper in TE Lutz.

Barksdale played pretty dang well when he got forced in by Saffolds injury.

Rams have some young Gems, couple rookie LBs stood out to me..Ray Ray with his hustle and Daren Bates a rookie from Auburn chipped in 4 stops.

I hope Lutz gets the fourth tight end job. I get the feeling that someone would poach him if we put him on the practice squad.

I was really happy to see Quick make those catches.... That's what we need to see from him!!! And Stedman seems to have a nice pair of hands also!!

I'd love to, but I will wait for the recording on NFL Network it's on like 4 am tomorrow, so I'll try to give you guys a summary on all the guys by Sunday, maybe sooner depending.
