Let's kick it off with PFT's Mike Foolio who can't help himself from constantly taking shots at the Rams. His beloved Patriots are at #5 even though they lost. In fact, there are two other teams ahead of the Rams who lost.

18. Rams (1-0): The Rams nearly scored one point for every fan in attendance.

Peter King and his buddies rank the Rams even lower while placing the Patriots at #5. There are 6 other losing teams ahead of the Rams, including the Chargers. Apparently for those who make up these meaningless rankings it's not what you did lately that counts but what you did last season.

23. LOS ANGELES RAMS (1-0)

Last Week’s Rank: 26

Points in MMQB Power Poll: 202

Highest-Place Vote: 14th

Lowest-Place Vote: 25th (2)

4. Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams had an even bigger margin of victory than the Jaguars, though it’s a little easier to dismiss because the Colts looked awful in every aspect. Scott Tolzien made the same mistake to the left side of the field three times with two passes intercepted and returned for touchdowns.

Even so, Indianapolis’ failures couldn’t hide the fact that Jared Goff looked much more comfortable and the Rams offense moved better than it did all of last year. There will be stiffer tests, but there’s reason for Los Angeles to be optimistic.

18. Rams Getting the Colts without Andrew Luck was a nice way to open the season. But they looked good blowing them out.

18. Los Angeles Rams
2017 record: 1-0
Preseason ranking: No. 27

The Rams scored 46 points in Week 1, their most in a season-opener in the Super Bowl era. Possible overreaction: New head coach Sean McVay has the offense moving the ball, and the defense dominated without Aaron Donald. The Rams will be in the NFC playoff picture in 2017.

The media's continuing narrative is good for McVay, because if we win, it's him. If Goff loses, he's not good enough. If Goff keeps winning though, he will begin to get some credit. I mean, Brady gets credit.

So much silliness to these...
Some head scratchers:

Yahoo:
Chargers ahead of the Rams? They (the Chargers) did lose, right?
Giants ahead of the Rams? They also lost, no?

NFL:
Giants again ahead of the Rams? (see above)
Chargers again ahead of the Rams? (see above)
Cardinals ahead of the Rams? Now, this is getting ridiculous
Washington ahead of the Rams? This is now garbage to me

ESPN:
Better...
Only the Giants ahead of the Rams

CBS:
Again, better... only the Giants

I think I'll go with....

SBNation!!

Technically, he took a shot at the Rams fans.

As many have said, the Coliseum holds in excess of 90K.
They sold 65K
But some reports had the actual fannies in seats around 47K..

Also, as many have said... there are a number of contributing factors:
* It was hot
* There were a lot of other things going on last weekend
* It's a PITA to get there

But the biggest contributor?
The 2016 Rams

If they play well, they will become enough of a compelling reason to go see them, despite the contributing factors and the seats will fill up.

If not, people out there have plenty of other things to do...

But, hey, Mike... there were definitely more than 46 people at that game! Now, STFU!

Yeah the one thing that irritates me is seeing them get put too high. I'd rather they fly under the radar as they improve week to week and just keep building.

Putting the Rams fourth is just asinine. I mean they may be right, but power rankings are designed where you need to climb not jump based on one week. Maroons.
