I'm guessing this is the opening little mini game you play when you first start the game, to get you used to the controls. Obviously it's due to the Rams returning to LA.

The cinematic aspect of it is kind of cool... I think it's funny that the game is "won" when there's still over 30 seconds left though.

I don't know if I would be trusting Tavon to catch the rock with the game on the line unless he really steps it up this season.

Playoff situation, down by seven, we score a TD, and Fisher says go for two, I would hope Goff pulls the veteran move and sends in the kicking team anyway.. That would be dumb as hell, we're not in the Longest Yard here.

I do like how they pulled real audio from games, I just wish it mixed together a little easier.

I usually buy Madden in 4 year increments, and this year is the year for a new copy. I was gonna skip it, b/c of the cover, but if the gameplay is good I may just buy it anyway.

Interesting you say that because when I played this sequence I threw it to a wide open Tavon for the 2pt conversion and it bounced of his hands and went flying like 20 ft out of bounds, and I lost

Madden is trash nowadays, and a glorified roster update with zero competition. I miss the 2k series. NFL 2k5 is my favorite NFL game ever.

I wish the NFL didn't limit their licenses. I would've bought an updated Tecmo Super Bowl (not the early Tecmo Bowl) every year. With today's technology they'd be able to make a crazy awesome 2D game where they finally get our colors right! I never could get into those ROM hacks people made from the old versions.

They have the story all wrong here. They would send out the kicking team and Hekker would throw a pass to Kendricks off of a faked FG. They obviously don't know Jeff Fisher, jeez.

After bitching about it, I went and bought the damn thing anyway o_O. Loved the opening sequence. Hit Kendricks on 3rd and 13 for the TD. Gave me the choice of running Gurley or throwing to Tavon...I didn't even hesistate...mama Spain didn't raise no fools, Gurley for two! :football:

I ran it with Gurley and won

The sad thing is that the team is DOWN by a TD (at home) and had to rely on a blocked FG to even have a chance at the win against the 'skins. I guess so many years as a Rams fan, you're conditioned to see the glass as half full. Meh.

You can forget about seeing those on extra points now. With the extra point being so far back, you need a HUGE play to get in on a fake.

OK so I caved in and bought it. Just some thoughts...

The way I play is to take a bunch of different teams and do a fantasy draft i.e., starting from scratch and doing something different for each team (strong defense, strong QB/WR, etc). Of course the 1st team I pick is the Rams.

- It's gonna be hard to pass on Aaron Donald for each team. Rated 99, he's almost always available unless I'm picking at the end of the fantasy draft.

- What's funny is the cover boy is almost always the last 99 rated player to get taken. That's hilarious.

- The top RBs don't get taken until the 8thish round.

- The soundtrack is awful. Just, awful, awful "music." Looks like I'm sticking with listening to podcasts while I draft.

- Commentary is much better. I just muted everything in Madden 13. No more Jim "cliche" Nantz and Phil "oh no, wait" Simms. Now at least I can keep the volume up while I play the games.

- There's a whole load of stuff do do in franchise mode. I'm overwhelmed a bit right now.

- I had to change the camera angles around b/c they were making me nauseous.

- I'd be pretty disappointed if I bought a new copy every year, and that is why I get one every 4 years instead.
