Tavon Austin is putting in work with Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, according to his Instagram account. Austin has been seen all over social media consistently working out and trying to develop as a more pure wide receiver. This is one of many steps in the right direction.

Austin has a new coach, Rams passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach Mike Groh, who is ready to help him just like he helped players from the Chicago Bears and Alabama Crimson Tide. Austin, sooner or later, is going to be a stellar wide receiver that teams fear and not just a Swiss army knife.

Spending time with the All-Pro WR Brown will hopefully rub off on the 5-foot-8 speedster. He could learn a thing or two off of Brown’s illustrious route running.

Austin might be changing that soon if he is able to develop himself as a receiver. However no one really knows what the future holds, so for now it’s just nice to have Austin working out with the best in the league at his position.

I wish he'd work out with Alshon Jefferies and learn the Boras & Groh offense too...

If and when Tavon 'splodes with league-leading big plays and the rookie Coop has a year one impact Groh's prestige in this league is gonna go through the roof.

Tavon is a straight up baller !! He has grown so much over the years. The dude is totally cool. Really truly a PRO !!
He went into the OC to help coach, he has stayed clean & out of trouble . He was a guy that showed his true love for Stedman.
I went to the Charger game when busted one that got called back. He opens up holes for Gurley as well. This article just shows another example of his work ethic to get better.
He has all of training camp with Groh & Boras. They are going to be using him in different sets than Alshon Jefferies does.Kenny Britt needs to take some lessens.I liked how Groh was getting on Britt & telling Tavon he has no left hand. In basketball he would force him to go left. It is the little fundamentals that can add up.
I was never in favor of the trade up. Really actually pissed as the same with Jamarcus Joyner. Both players are undersized in a real mans league. These 2 players are really going to step up this season. Fisher is calling out for a lot more plays toward Tavon.Austin also is & has improved his knowledge on the markers. Those 3rd down plays are huge. Groh is going to help keep the sticks moving down the field.
The Rams 3rd down % was one of the worst in NFL history.

I'd rather Tavon would stick to working out with someone that is similar in size. He doesn't have the strength, nor the size that Alshon has; therefore, he will not be used like him. If you can run great routes, catch, and have speed, you can succeed. Besides, Alshon is no AB.

The offense part is learned in the classroom, and reps in practice.

So don't sleep on Pharoh Copper. He was drafted higher than AB.He is built to hold up better than Tavon & is better at creating space on routes as well.

Good, glad GRob isn't the only one seeking guidance and coaching outside of the teams roster of coaches and coordinators.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. And its good to know we have players who have a good work ethic and want to be the best they can be. Combine that with the talent they have, sky's the limit.

I can't help but love Tavon he just seems like he isn't just all flash and really wants to be the best. Some guys get overhyped...cough cough Johnny...cough cough Manziel, and they don't live up to the hype for starters but whats worse is that they don't have the work ethic guys with less natural ability have

Okay....I'll be watching and waiting....

See, I saw Tavon....I remember 2013 or was it 2012?....He was Sam B's MAIN TARGET....some said the reasons for his struggles were...what...rookie? small hands? I forget...but he was the main target, and after 6-8 games of this, schotty & fish decided to return to a more basic offense...that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.....when we had our best QB in years healthy, and targeting Tavon, what the hell happened?!?

Wasn't Tavon battling injuries ? He also came into the league on pure talent. Things came to easy,& in the NFL it is the speed of the game that gets players. Tavon always used his speed.
-- He was drafted as a athlete more than a WR.He had 300 yards rushing against Oklahoma in college. It has taken him time to develop his wr skills.
All the TD's and yards taken away from him is all that has kept him out of the Pro Bowl as a PR specialist.I saw in in SD run one back for a game winner only to have it called back.
A Jefferies learned a lot from the all pro that is with the Jets now.I'm not sure about all his stats, but he has always had a special talent of going over smaller DB's to make great catches. His freshman year I thought he would be a #1 pick from S.Carolina. How he slipped was not from lack of talent.Thought he was going to be better than Keshawn Johnson as a pro back then.

Good on Tavon to take the bull by the horns. Working out with and getting pointers from a guy like Brown can only help.

Antonio Brown is exactly the guy I want Tavon to be working with. Similar in size, and Brown is a beast. Hope he's given Tavon some good tips.

Other than the fact that AB isn't the best WR in the NFL I like this article. Hope Tavon can really improve his route running while working with Antonio.

well, he was a rookie. most of the routes had him running back towards the rams endzone to catch the ball. there were 3 tacklers read to pounce on him as soon as he caught the ball. they weren't stretching the field to make some room behind the line of scrimmage. drich took every carry into the butt of a guard.

they returned to the basic offense after the horrible whiners game in week 4. and they made stacy the starter at rb. then the offense started to get it's act together. week 7 they were shredding the panthers. tavon beat his man easy and caught a 40 yard bomb for a td except long the bonehead tripped a lineman for no other reason than being a bonehead, so the td was nullified. then sam got injured. then we had 3 years of shit throwing the ball.

The perfect WR to be working with! similar traits physically, and someone I was PRAYING he would seek out. For sure route running will be huge plus to learn from AB, but what I really hope he gets across to Tavon is film study- and how to set up corners etc. Teaching him how to use film to your adv. Something Brown really excels at. HE is the smartest WR in the game, and obviously works hard- if any of that rubs off- yeah!!! Applaud the fact he reached out to him.
