I hate to post a new thread just for this tweet.

But at the same time I feel like this topic could be a pinned board thread.

We have a few guys on our team that absolutely dominate using leverage.

In this *brilliant play you can see Kupp use leverage brilliantly at full speed running down the field.

It's at the time that he hits about the 15 just after truly getting in front of Higbee.

Kupp makes a few, very suttle, adjustments in one or two steps towards the inside while leaning slightly with his upper body.

That split second. Those two steps. Kupp was using his knowledge and repetitions in practice of leverage.

The defender froze for just enough time to Kupp to get himself into the endzone.

Donald does these things frequently.

Kupp's may not have great top end speed, but his explosion is among the best I've seen. And I can't help but think he was working with 99 on using his hand, because that new move he has to push off defenders is ridiculously good.

I believe I mentioned Donald in there.

Leverage is a truly interesting topic to get into.

The idea and term is used in such a multitude of ways.

U would think Brian Allen would be great at it as a former wrestler. I have seen plays where he gets slightly beaten and doesn't use leverage to counter. I.e. if he gets beaten, use leverage on the inside shoulder to push the defender past or outside of Goff's presence. It will allow Goff to step up into the pocket, which he needs to do anyhow to step into and throw a great pass.

Yep. I mean physical specimen like Cordarrelle Patterson or Brian Quick?... or Cooper Kupp?

Seems like a no brainer to me...

Kupp gets up to full speed almost immediately. That’s what makes him so dangerous in the open field.

Higbee was WIIIIIIIIIDE open though lol

I like how he does zero 'tavon austin' dancing, and just gets vertical instantly. Kind of like danny amendola did on our punt returns back in the day. I actually think that no fear - take it to them before they give to me - approach is the safer way to play football. YAC baby!
