This offensive line has gotten better every game and is looking like a blocking UNIT again. They were up against some tough, talented linemen yesterday and everyone held their own and then some. What's awesome is this could just be the tip of the iceberg!

His teaching background is really shining. The entire line looks confident, almost like they know what they're supposed to be doing

Nice post @NateDawg122. He definitely does deserve a lot of cred. Offensive staff in its entirety does too for that matter. This unit is already exceeding my expectations and highest hopes of this offseason. Outstanding job all around and yeah the OL is holding it down.

EDIT: cred to the players too btw. Even our backup center that came in there and held things down at a solid level. Real happy with this unit.

Wait till they really start getting cohesive working together for a time.

They should get even better.

Boy, I remember when I got slammed for suggesting that Boudreau may not have been that good a coach.

So far, so good with Kromer... I am seeing improvement week to week.

It was nice to see little to no dropoff when Blythe stepped in after the Sullivan injury. Could be an improvement over Sullivan if he gels with the Oline via more reps

So true that it's worth re-posting:

This offensive line has gotten better every game and is looking like a blocking UNIT again. They were up against some tough, talented linemen yesterday and everyone held their own and then some. What's awesome is this could just be the tip of the iceberg!

Thank you, Aaron Kromer!

It has to help that he found and settled on a starting 5 early. There was the flip-flop of the right side for what 1 maybe 2 weeks, then back to the current positions. The staff has allowed the line to gel and it is working, dont want them to peak to early though, maybe week 16 or 17, have a 1st rd bye and maul their way to a SB win.

Blythe looks so smooth off the bench that you have to wonder, what was Indianapolis thinking?

That was the performance of a strong 2nd stringer.

The fact that he plays guard as well should have made him a strong candidate for most teams 53-man roster.

A very good job of Kromer or the scouts to find this guy.

Kromer is one of the best in the business. It's easy to see why Buffalo's OL was such a strong unit the past couple of years. The OL has improved immensely. It's now run blocking quite well despite playing a very large and stout 49ers DL. The pass protection has also been quality. Kromer and Andrew Whitworth both deserve a ton of credit for the turnaround.

Boudreau was an expert an taking smart, hard working street-free agents and getting them to play. But, apparently couldn't work with all of our #1-3 rounders....kinda funny. THink the 2015 Rams O line was pretty good the last 5-6 games, and then those same guys are awful in 2016....a lof of that was going around on the high school offense.

Ya, on the goal line, zero push for a 2 trips to the 1-2 yard line. Brown and Havenstein make me sad lately. But, pass pro is where the game is won, right? So far, pretty good.

As teams take the Rams O seriously, the O line will be under great duress...this is the NFL, not Oklahoma vs Sandusky State.

The 49ers have one of the stouter DLs in the NFL. There starting four are Thomas/Carradine, Buckner, Mitchell, and Armstead. That means they have three guys on the DL who are around 300 pounds, and their other starter comes in between 275 pounds (Thomas) and 285 pounds (Carradine).

Our OL opened up holes for much of the game using zone concepts. It's not surprising that the 49ers were able to make a stand when it became power vs. power. We've got a big OL, but they aren't the most powerful unit in the NFL.

And as you said, the pass protection was outstanding, which is more important. (y)
