Former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was moved to a segregated unit at Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Massachusetts this week after a knife was found in his cell.
According to WHDH.com in Boston, guards at the correction center were performing a shakedown of Hernandez's prison block when they discovered the prison-made weapon concealed in his cell.
As punishment for having the weapon, Hernandez, 26, was immediately taken out of general population and put into a segregated unit.
It's not the first time that Hernandez has had issues since being put behind bars. Hernandez was charged with assault and battery for the part he played in a February 2014 jail altercation. Hernandez also got into trouble in May 2015 for serving as a lookout in another incident.
Hernandez, who's been incarcerated since June 2013, is currently serving a life sentence after being convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Odin Lloyd. Hernandez is also set to go on trial in January for a double-murder that took place outside of Boston in July 2012
