Jets waived WR Stephen Hill.

Hill got off to a hot start this offseason in spring practices but fell off a cliff once preseason games got underway. He reeled in just 3-of-8 targets for 42 yards, while dropping two passes. Drops have become a recurring theme for the former No. 43 overall pick in the 2012 draft. He's dropped nine of his 97 career targets. Hill still has enough raw talent to draw a quick look on waivers. He has ideal size (6'4/215) and speed (4.36 forty). We're not ruling out Hill eventually developing into a serviceable receiver somewhere outside of New York.

Wide receiver Stephen Hill’s tenure with the Jets appears to be coming to a close.

The club will be waiving Hill, their 2012 second-round pick, Brian Costello of the New York Postreported Saturday.
