If you watched any of the Cleveland Browns' Week 7 loss to the Green Bay Packers, you know they're a team in desperate need of quarterback help.

Brandon Weeden is not the answer, and Jason Campbell doesn't exactly inspire goosebumps. Is there another option out there who can save Cleveland's season?

Jeff Garcia offers one alternative: Himself. The 43-year-old former quarterback told WKRK-FM in Cleveland he'd like a chance to be considered by the Browns.

"It's funny, I actually reached out to the Browns and said, 'Hey, if you need a guy to come in, work me out, take a look,' " he said Tuesday. "I don't know if people want me back in Cleveland, but I'm open to the opportunity."

It doesn't sound like the Browns got back to Garcia, which shouldn't be seen as a surprise. Garcia hasn't thrown an NFL pass since George W. Bush was in office. Also -- as stated above -- dude's 43.

We were more interested in Garcia's comments about JaMarcus Russell, who Garcia helped train earlier this year. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that Russell's comeback plan had stalled due to knee and weight issues. Garcia feels money might have derailed Russell's progress.

"When he got that settlement from Oakland, that $3 million dollar-plus settlement, I think things got soft again," Garcia said. "I think the motivation might have changed a little bit."

"I just don't know if that fire, that hunger, continued to burn when all of a sudden he got money in his pocket again," he went on. "And that's the unfortunate thing because that three months that he was with us, he really committed himself, we pushed him, we brought out the best of him. And if he would have continued along that path I think he could have been somebody special."

We might put Garcia's chances of getting back to the NFL ahead of Russell's at this point.

According to his agent, his only conditions for being signed are as follows:

-Handicap parking
-A daily supply of Ensure as long as he is under contract
-A daily supply of Depends as long as he is under contract
-A Rascal scooter with a side cart attached for his hot ass wife.

P.S. I agree with MojoRam, underated QB who never got passed around to much.

In all seriousness, what are the odds he's even near being in football shape?

Very doubtful, he hasn't played extensively in the NFL for 5 years now, that's a lot of time to get out of the NFL groove, and if he's signed by a team he wouldn't have much time to get back in order before a well timed hit puts him down for the count.

I think it'd probably just be in Garcia's best interest to leave it to little Jason Garcia in the future.

In all seriousness, what are the odds he's not still better than Kellen Clemmens and Brady Quinn?

Pretty slim if he isn't in football shape. But that's just my opinion. And I'm also 100% certain that the Rams aren't going to be dialing him up, so it's all speculative noise to me anyway.

I say sign him. I mean NOW and start him on Monday.

We KNOW what KC is going to do for us, with Garcia we actually have hope of fair QB play.

No way. For some reason I always thought Jeff Garcia was gay. Guess I was wrong :)

And here is Jeff running his football camp. Still looks to be in pretty good shape.
