is it me ? or is there something different about Fishers demeanor in this presser ...i can quite put my finger on it ...i wouldnt say he seem happy but he certainly doesn't look as despondent

the first thought that come to my head was that he was told his job is safe (the extension is still happening) but then that made me sad so brushed it off and then i though maybe Stan has told him he is gone at the end of the year so the pressure is off him just needs to see out the year ,,,which would be silly IMO

or maybe im just reading too much into it

I stopped watching Jeff Fisher post game pressers about 4 weeks ago....

I'm disgusted by what he's done to this team, and even more disgusted by what that has done to our great fan base here at ROD

I think fans tend to underestimate how difficult it is to move a team. Fisher was hired because Stan wanted a guy who could pull his team together and make a smooth transition into LA. He didn't care about wins. And he needed a QB for the future of LA. Obviously, Fisher feels he is a competent head coach and the switch to Goff was to save his job. But I truly believe the plan all along was to retain Fisher until the move and if he remained mediocre, get a brand new coaching staff and be ready for the playoffs by the time his big boy stadium was ready.
I agree that was the plan. Plans change though. Poor boring football is a good way to turn off a fan base. TV ratings are low and it's not the fan's fault. It's a bad product. You're in a new market with a ton of competition. You need an exciting product to gain traction. Two more years of Fisherball could really kill the potential of the LA market. Kroenke can't wait until the new stadium. He needs to act now. Also if the Chargers move to town and are successful off the bat, then he becomes the Clippers of the NFL. He cannot allow that to happen. If he wants to be successful in the market he needs to adapt his plan.

It's gonna be a dark day here when he gets extended .... don't kid yourselves, it's coming.

Yup. I agree. I wish there was a way to prepare everyone to lessen the shock.
I would love to bet you two....
You can't be serious. I need to see some proof.

Perhaps you two should ask @flv (he's the guy, right) to put something in the sportsbook, straight up as to whether Fisher gets extended or not. Y'all being that confident in it, you shouldn't have any problem putting some of your fake money into it, right?
Exactly!!!

The Fisher dislike is one thing, but guys betting on a man to get fired from his lively hood is pretty low.
Someone already stated this isn't a firing. Also, he plays in the entertainment industry. He's made MILLIONS. In fact, I believe he's paid so well to be able to stand a little criticism. As well as praise. That's how THIS job works. Team performs, receive adulation....team stinks receive scorn...publicly. Sorry, don't like it, don't go into professional coaching. And personally, with the job he's done, if he was in the middle of his contract he deserves to get fired. and there's nothing wrong with a couple of fans laying FAKE money on his outcome. Whether he's extended or not....

What he has in the bank is not the point
Which is plenty.

The way the D gave up at the end...WITH a QB no less...lets me know that there's more going on here.
Glad you noticed Mac....they quit...pure and simple...And I think it had to do with G-Rob...the way he plays (physical), and maybe the SEC....Barron & Tree were trippin

If the Rams live up to how they've been under Fisher they'll probably beat the patriots. They seem to win games they shouldn't. At times they look like they could be a dominating team, only to falter against easier opponents.
See comment above. That's when the Defense played hard for him...They appeared to have quit yesterday....Not sure why...but you see my possible reason.

After 4+ years of following your leader to 6-10/7-9 seasons only to have this season be the same as the others, you start to lose faith.

Thanks Fisher for another one of your fairy tales.....never seen anyone who can turn a crap performance into another yellow brick road scenario.........remarkable gall if you ask me. :poop:

Fisher definitely has a gift, not sure if coaching is it, but he sure can make that bullshit shine.

Right or wrong, if they quit because of a move the coach makes, maybe they have a problem...

Yep, I agree to a point. I think the team has gone through enough together that the SEC is an after thought foor the players. Its a RAM thing now. But I do think the G-Rob thing caused a division in the locker room.

I would say "may have" caused a division, but otherwise agree. Benching is 1 thing, Leaving inactive was just ridiculous and had Goff or Gurley gotten hurt as a result of a big hit, it would have been worse.
Fisher blamed Austin for the pick 6, Quick for the DRC end zone play, but those guys started the next game
If boneheaded play caused a inactive spot during the Fisher era, there would be times they'd be playing with half a team

Go with your gut Flv. What you said here is right on the money. I get people wanting to get rid of Fisher. I don't think we need somewhat of a death pool on it.

More than anything, Fish wanted to time it. If you bench GRob before Goff played what would the headlines every where be? Rams have #2 and #1 overall pick riding the bench and that's too much heat even for the cool Fish. This is 4d chess that we understand a few days, weeks, months and years later once move is made. Now that Saffold is injured, gloss it up as "break" for GRob, call media bots and let them go to work for you.

Yes your exactly right and thank you for the improved terminology. "May have" caused a division, and also because the players know theres a bit of piling on when it comes to G-Rob. Not necessarily the poor choice on the block in the back, but alot of the holding penalties and whatever else may have added up to Fishers line in the sand.

The headlines? I can tell you what "headline" makes no sense, the "I was waiting to start my rookie QB before benching my LT" one.
No if Fisher was thinking about headlines it was strictly those that would make him look smart, and deactivating GRob did not so that

Totally agree.
The false starts are maddening, but makes you wonder what they are doing to help him. The senseless block in the back was bad, but let him learn from it, by playing....

I don't see where a bet along the lines of: "Does Fisher get extension?" is a death pool. Its a fair question that the organization did a poor job of preventing. This is why it is so uncommon for a coach to not get the obligatory extension before the year starts.
In any event, he's the coach and if you think its a bad look than so be it.
Ounce of prevention beats a pound of cure
