I like this spoiled little prick less and less with each passing day. So, not only is his half game suspension a slap on the wrist joke, he apparently doesn't even think he's obligated to treat it like a suspension and can do what he likes.

He was suited up and warming up with the offense shortly before the Clemson/FSU game started.

Jimbo Fisher can to yank his ass back into the locker room to get changed.

Just a bad apple.

I know, I know. "Rape allegations are just allegations."

But FSU and everyone else in Florida is enabling this kid. And it's disgusting.

I don't think I understand. Are you just reiterating your dislike for Winston or are you seriously saying him warming up with the team is some kind of additional proof that he's a spoiled prick? Should he be in the locker room sulking or crying?

Wasn't he only suspended for half the game? Why shouldn't he be in his gear? He would still play the second half right? Or did they make the suspension for the full game and I didn't hear about it? I don't see the problem either way, who gives a crap? He likes the game, who cares if he was warming up?

They'd increased the suspension to a full game. Apparently he lied to the school about some things related to his shouting obscenities in the student union. He should not have even been in the locker room.

Yes, he's just an immature kid, we all did immature things, blah blah blah. But he's hoping to be a high draft pick, get paid millions, and be the face of a billion dollar franchise. So far he's making that less likely with his behavior. Especially with the increased emphasis on behavior in the NFL.

I hope to hell we don't draft this prick. I would not watch any game with him as the QB.

Mountains out of mole hills.

Build up enough mole hills, and you'll get mountains. And Shameis is building it pretty well.

And apparently it teed of Jimbo enough he told him to get changed.

Seriously? Suspended players aren't allowed on the playing field as far as I know. And yea, his suspension was increased.

To me, it's more of a slap in the face of his punishment. A "I don't care," I'll go out there and act like I'm starting.

There's something wrong with this kid. And pushing away issues like this because of "talent" is exactly the problem with the NFL right now.

And ESPN yacking him up to be a leader is sickening.

And since we are on this subject, FSU's offense looks atrocious without Winston. Weren't people saying that Winston might be overrated due to the talent around him(and I know someone said they don't like big program QBs because of the talent around them)...I think it might be the opposite.(except for Rashad Greene)

I think this is nothing. Guy wanted to play. He went out there and warmed up with his teammates. Probably tried to get them pumped up. When Fisher asked him to change, he did. Would people have preferred that he sat in the locker-room, sulked, and watched the game on TV while eating? Even if he's suspended, I'd rather have my QB with the team on the sideline.

Stupid and immature but this seems like we're getting to Manziel territory. Every thing he does is going to get over-analyzed.

There are much worse things to worry about.

Let's be real here. There are people in the NFL that play after they have played a part in murdering someone. It just doesn't matter. Michael Vick murdered how many Pit Bulls?

If you have talent, everything else is over looked. If you want to play with the 4 pillars guys, maybe you should follow Spags.

This isn't anything like Manziel man.

C'mon. This is a kid, whether you like it or not, still has rape investigations going against him. And I know you don't like it either, but I think the victim's story got buried. And buried hard.

It's a chain reaction of idiocy from this kid that just shows he's incapable of maturing. This isn't about being a kid...

This just encapsulates everything wrong with the sports world in general. He can throw a ball real good, so who cares right?

I'm not sure on the rules of suspensions, but I can't imagine it being allowed that you can step foot on the playing field during the game or warmups. If so, just further NCAA failures.

And seriously, why do you keep defending him anyway?

"The decision to extend the suspension was made because Winston was not entirely truthful or forthcoming regarding the incident, a source told ESPN."

Excuses are like asses, man.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with you about this incident but as far as I'm concerned, the only reason he's not in prison right now is because the cops screwed up the rape complaint. He gets zero benefit of the doubt with me.

That's probably not going to be the case going forward. The NFL is in serious CYA mode over how they haven't been properly punishing those who seriously misbehave. The result is likely to be that immature behavior that sometimes crosses into criminal is going to lead to long suspensions. So teams will be less likely to spend millions and use high draft picks on players who are character risks. And with every action, Winston is showing himself to be a character risk.

Just to be clear, is this tongue-in cheek? I mean, just because it is the reality of the NFL, and hell sports and life in general, doesn't mean it should be.

I like my football and my BB, but the NCAA and NFL are as corrupt and lacking as any other institution. None of it passes the smell test. And we all keep watching it. We humans love our entertainment.

Not tongue and cheek in all. It really is the reality.

The only thing that needs to change is the way our children look up to these guys as role-models.

It's a league of thugs, and you won't change that when the players come from poor inner city backgrounds, and are handed everything to them in college.
^ I realize this isn't true for everyone, but it is quite common.

I don't agree with this in it's entirety. The top of the first round of the draft is all about the most talented, and highest up-side guys. What is Jameis?

I'll tell you that if he falls to the bottom of the first, someone is going to get a steal.

I really wish we would leave out the rape allegations. I'll research it some more, but if you are the highest profile guy on campus, you're going to have people gunning for you like this.
As far as his other stuff. I agree with @jrry32, mountains out of molehills.

Hah. I just meant the Spags part as a "don't like it, follow Spags."

I know what you mean though. It tees me off all the opportunities that these kids from poor inner cities (and hell, even the wealthy kids) have to not only be the "big man on campus" but they get full academic rides essentially, and fuck if they care about actually taking advantage of that to learn and grow as a person. It's just all about the sports. Really disappointing. I know it isn't all of them. Most never even see the pros, but the talented ones couldn't give a shit.

I do wonder if it is a football thing as a result of the violent nature of the game. You never really hear so much about these types of cases in say, baseball. Now, maybe it is just kept quiet more, but....still.

To each their own. But it's Tallahassee. And these allegations happened before he was a household name. And seriously, rape is so underreported in general and covered up in the sporting world, that I can't give ANY player the benefit of the doubt. And I'm more of the opinion that women aren't just going to scream rape any chance they can get. I think it is way too personal and painful a thing to just fake. And I don't know of an allegation proven to be faked either.

Lol yea, I was being tongue in cheek with the Spags comment.

While I agree rape is under reported in the sports world, and with famous people in general. But, I do think that there are people in this world that would exploit him to make a little money. Perhaps it is a little early to do that though.
