Jacob Harris suffers offseason setback, out 2-3 weeks

No time off is “good time off” for an NFL rookie and Jacob Harris has had a little time off recently. It is expected to continue for a few more weeks.

The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue reported Wednesday that Harris, a fourth round tight end/wide receiver out of UCF, will be out at least a couple of weeks as he recovers from a core injury that he suffered recently and had surgery on.

Rodrigue says that for now, the Rams are just being “cautious” with the rookie and at the moment there is nobody on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

There is a lot of optimism surrounding the athletic tight end, thanks not only to his unique physical traits but thanks to some nifty plays he made in OTAs this summer. Los Angeles likely isn’t going to count on much from Harris this season anyway as he is working to become a tight end for the first time in his football career.

This could allow more time to study the playbook.

2-3 weeks isn’t too bad, but it feels closer to 3 based on that read… and 2-3 more weeks from now is what I interpret there… which is technically 3-4 weeks in total.

Bummer.

what a bummer to see this pop up...

i'm having high hopes for this rookie class this year, and harris was a big part of it...

on the bright side... isn't this turning into one of the greatest periods to be a ramfan?... and i'm talking to the oldtimers, because for us that began with deacon, merlin, pardee, gabriel.. we've seen the ups and downs... the times we knew we'd make the playoffs, and the times we knew we would need lightning in a bottle to compete...

i'm just fuc&1ng super stoked, and can't wait to release the Kracken, that are the rams this year...

the NFL won't know what hit them... feels a lot like '99 all over again...

go rams

Lots of playbook to digest and film to watch, might not be the worst thing in the world.

Going to be a very long season, so get those injuries out da way now. We need the train full steam come the last part of the season.

Would be great to see dude in the August 21 preseason game vs da Raidas. Or the last game vs the Broncos.

This report is from Wednesday when Harris was held out. He participated in individual drills on the side Thursday, and yesterday on Friday was a full participant in the walk-through.

He will likely be held out today as it's our first full pad practice, but he's obviously progressing and I doubt he'll be out 2-3 more weeks given his participation Thurs and Fri.

That is good to keep in mind.

Harris doing much week 1 wasn’t very likely to begin with.
