Sorry if this should be OT but it is Rams related. Mods feel free to move if necessary and my apologies. That said....

My Mrs. Candy is getting me a football related birthday present in advance. I've got 2 options I'm kind of in a quandry over. Nice problem to have I must admit..

Option 1: Her first idea is that we go to a Ram game this year. Looking at the Seattle game on October 19th as it's 2 days before my birthday. No brainer you say? lol There's more.. Being a country girl, she will not drive in St. Louis, so we'd be looking at getting a room for 2 days (the Saturday night before included), plus the cost of the game, not to mention tailgating. That could run over $500. After having many man sodas for the game, I'm not driving either... I don't need a costly DUI.

Option 2: Got the bill from Direct TV for Sunday ticket and it was like wow.. $240 for it. Hence, Sunday ticket is now in play for the birthday present. I like having the option of watching any game I want to watch after the Rams. There's nothing wrong with a big screen TV, your own grill, and many cold frosty ones and staying at home. We're also looking at adding solar power to the house and I have to get something going on keeping the wind out of the crawl space of our older house. I'm thinking Sunday Ticket may be the most frugle route to go.

That said, last year was the first in awhile I've missed attending one game. Hate to make it 2 years in a row, yet being self sufficient in power may be worth it.... Not saying the game will cover the costs of solar, but all things are culmlative.

Thanks for your time folks and letting me vent my ideas... Vote in the poll if you wish.

I'm going for both for myself this year. My first ever game in St Louis + NFL Gamepass (the international Sunday Ticket). If I had to chose one though it would be Gamepass, seeing every game live and in HD (internet permitting) trumps seeing one game live in real definition.

You lucky bastard! ;)
I can't afford either one but as much as I'd like to go to a game, I'd like to be able to watch and DVR all the Ram games so I think I'd do the second option.

Go to the fucking game and be as loud as you can be, do not sit down ever...
Also, do not even consider what your wife thinks on the issue, that road will spiral downhill quickly.
Some here will think I'm a big A-hole.... they might be right.

The real question is what does your wife think?

I would love to see a live game! But seeing them all on TV is better than only one. Sunday Ticket for me.

Both. Cut back a little on the game spending. After discounts, I got the Ticket Max for $180. If I had to choose 1, it would be Ticket. Especially if I already went to games.

You haven't seen the OT thread on Sunday Ticket.

Call direct tv. When the computer asks what you are calling about, say cancel. When she asks if you are moving say no. You will be transferred to retention whose job it is to keep you. Tell them you got directv for Sunday ticket but can't afford it any more so you're going back to cable.

Enjoy your free Sunday tick and watching the Seahawks lose. Happy Birthday.

yeah, I would say give DTV a call and haggle with them, then make your decisions on the outcome of that call.

Good Luck Dag !!

I take it that you don't live in the St. Louis area. If you can get Sunday ticket free, fine. But if you can't, based on the schedule, you will probably get 7 or 8 games on network tv. So if you're paying for Ram games you are only paying for like half a season. I'm thinking about nfl.com's football thing where you can get all the games after they have been played, in full with some other perks. Just a thought

Call directv and threaten to cancel. Tell them you only have for Sunday tix and its too much. They'll eventually offer it up for free if u stay with it. I've done this for ppl before. U kind of have to be a dick but it works every time.

Then u get both :)

Sunday ticket is by far the most fiscal way to go, here. I assume you live out of market or u wouldn't need Sunday ticket, IDK. I'd go to the game if I didn't need Sunday ticket to view.

How many canned jars of peppers could you bring into the dome Dag?
