Surprised this isn't posted yet. Anybody who says Bruce shouldn't be in the HOF should be man hoe slapped and punched in their nipple dick!!! Dam good videos!

BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCEEEE!!!!!!!

http://www.nfl.com/m/share?p=/videos/good-morning-football/0ap3000000885087/Bruce-My-numbers-alone-are-why-I-deserve-to-be-in-HOF

Welcome to Numbers Wednesday, where we write posts on players who do and do not care about them.

We led off with DeMarco Murray not caring about his stats. Right around the same time that was published, Rams great Isaac Bruce was joining powerhouse morning show Good Morning Football to discuss a myriad of topics, including his Hall of Fame candidacy.

Bruce was a finalist for the most recent class, but was left behind as former teammate Kurt Warner got the call to join the Hall. For Bruce, who retired in 2009, it should only be a matter of when, not if.

The receiver, who starred as part of the "Greatest Show on Turf" St. Louis Rams, recorded eight 1,000-plus-yard seasons in his career. He broke 15,208 yards receiving for his career (to go with 91 touchdowns) and retired with the second-most receiving yards of all-time, trailing only Jerry Rice in the category (he's now fourth all-time).

If you want to pound the record books when making Bruce's case, that should be enough. He agrees.

http://www.nfl.com/m/share?p=/videos/los-angeles-rams/0ap3000000776909/Isaac-Bruce-catches-a-73-yard-TD-in-Super-Bowl-XXXIV

"When I retired, I was second [in receiving yards] all-time," Bruce said while speaking with GMFB's Kay Adams, Peter Schrager, Nate Burleson and Kyle Brandt. "The second person ever to touch 15,000 yards. On top of that, I was a guy who performed on the biggest stage. I closed out a game, Super Bowl XXXIV. It's everybody's dream when you're in your backyard. You want to have the winning touchdown catch, and that was me. It actually happened in my career.

"When you just look at the numbers, if you're really building cases off of numbers, how do you say no?"

Bruce is right -- you'd be hard-pressed to find someone with a legitimate reason to say no. There simply isn't a credible argument to the contrary.

It's a common expectation to see Bruce on stage in Canton, Ohio, in the next few years. The best receiver in one of modern football's best offenses ever will have his own bust -- and out of appreciation for his contributions to the game, it should be sooner, rather than later.

He deserves it more than Moss or TO ... what did they ever do in big games? Bruce caught the winning TD in a Super Bowl.

And lest anyone thinks his numbers were due to having so much talent around him, let's not forget his 1995 season when he was virtually the ONLY guy on offense doing anything given that they had no other WR's of consequence and Bettis pretty much mailed it in ... Bruce still pulled in 119 passes for over 1700 yards. Neither Moss nor TO ever put up those kind of numbers on a team as sh!tty as the Rams were that year.

For me personally, he is thee Ram and will always be thee Ram. The first Ram player I ever loved. The first Rams jersey I ever owned. So I'm a little biased when I say he deserves to be in the HoF over every WR currently eligible. .

Bruce and Holt should definitely be in the Hall. Steven Jackson as well.

That TO isn't in is complete and utter BS.

I realize they don't want to diminish the prestige by letting a lot of people in at once.

That said, TO, Moss and Ike deserve it ASAP.

Then Holt who had, what? 6 straight seasons over 1300 yards? None of the others accomplished that. That level of sustained excellence was a record that still stands iirc.

I have every faith and confidence that they'll all get in.

And Larry Fitzgerald because even as a Cardinal, dude is a 1st class baller.

lol no he shouldnt. but to each his own i suppose
Your first sentence sounds like you agree with me. Your second sentence sounds like you disagree.

I'm sure either of us could go on and on about how good Bruce was. Bruce did on a clip posted here recently (the whole Good Morning Football crew did actually).

Owens received a lot of favoritism from being on the niners teams starting in the late 90's. Then of course he played for "Americas team" (excuse me while I vomit). So, he was in situations that would greatly increase his fame/favoritism of he could perform above average. And he lucked his way into a super bowl appearance, and loss, with the eagles.

His all pro and pro bowl votes were more a product of his name recognition from being an ass hat than actually being so much superior to other players of the day. Not to say he wasn't good, but everybody knew him because he was being a disrespectful clown every game.

He was very good, and deserving of the HoF. But Bruce was a better WR and a better professional football player. Owens could cover some of his lack of technical skill with his superior size/athleticism, but doing just as much with less physical ability is more impressive to me. That was Bruce in this situation.

I saw Isaac Bruce play every game as a Ram and he that includes his first game as a Los Angeles Ram a draft pick out of Memphis. I recall my dad saying to me as were watching the team from our season seats in Anaheim Stadium in the OC "Steve, mark my words, this kid will be in the HOF one day. I've seen all Ram receivers since 1949 and he is the best I've seen." He had such a knack for making such quick moves and being at the right place at he right time. I'm not a football expert by any means and I'm partial to the Rams but he has to be right up there with Jerry Rice (yes, the receiver Ram fans love to hate and that includes myself but I'm certain Bruce would claim that he was great), Jack Snow. I'm in complete agreement with "thirteen 28" and I saw him gain all of those 1700 yards in 1994.

I meant Bruce shouldnt get in over TO, and I'll stand by that. Dont get me wrong Bruce was a great WR, but whether it was the QBs/systems or not TO's stats are clearly better than Bruce's and IMO he was a better WR skill/talent wise too. Personally its Rice > Moss > Owens > everyone else (although I think Megatron woulda been up there and Antonio Brown is on his way).

as I said, to each his own though. I really dont want to get into a pointless discussion about whos better because they were both great and will both be HoFers in no time

and yet Lynn Swann is in there. It's a travesty lol. Compare any of these guys stats to his and you would think Swann was a back up. I don't care about SB rings. I judge the player not the team.

It’s a tough time for WRs to get in with Randy Moss, TO, Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce, and Hines Ward all becoming semi-finalists for the HOF. There is also so much talent at other positions that a maximum of 2 out of the 5 might make it.

Honestly thinking Miss and Bruce get in this year. I feel they look at it as a log jam and choose the better of Moss and Owens, Bruce and Holt. So they’ll go Miss with Bruce. It’ll be interesting to see.

I agree. Swann is in the HOF for his post season prowess and his SB catches that are immortalized. But the rest of his career is a bit meh. At least Stallworth had 3 1,000 yards seasons.
That said, Swann belongs in the HOF, but so do Bruce, Owens and Moss in that order....

His numbers should be enough. But there are no guarantees.

Harold Jackson and Henry Ellard were 2nd and 3rd all time in receiving yards when they retired.
