That all veggies eat only vegetables and various concoctions of vegetables.

I just thought that vegetarians didn't eat meat. Am I wrong? Now I know people that just don't eat red meat but do eat fish or pork or poultry and I forget what we label those people's culinary lifestyles????

True vegetarians only eat vegetables, soy, nuts and fruits. They don't eat anything with any animal byproducts in it either.
Then you get people who aren't vegetarians, but only eat white meat. That's healthier, according to them (false)
And then there are the pescetarians who abstain from eating all meat and animal flesh with the exception of fish.

I'm more of an Arbystarian.

Also false. Not eating animal byproducts like dairy = vegan. Which I'm not. Hell no.

I don't. Just a belief system not another living thing w/ a nervous system.

My wife says she's a meat eating vegetarian. HEY! Stop it. Seriously though, she is allergic to dairy and eggs.
I bet u a rack of ribs that your wife will have absolutely no issue with dairy or eggs IF: (1) she takes a really good probiotic supplement, and (2) consumes Raw (unpasterized) milk from a grass fed cow, or (3) eats eggs from hens that don't eat either corn or soy based feeds, but just grass and bugs, like they used to do in nature.

I went vegetarian in the beginning of the year. Wanted to go vegan but its just too difficult to manage with young children and being the cook in the house. After the first week or so, I hadnt felt so good physically in as long as I could remember. I enjoy running, and found that my recovery from my long runs and after hard workouts was much faster. I try to limit egg intake and dairy. Never felt better and could eat tons of food while losing weight.
Well, I tweaked an achilles tendon, had to drop out of training for a marathon and got totally depressed. Ate a burger at McDonalds and the train came completely off the tracks... I do look to get back on track because I feel pretty lousy. But meat does taste pretty darned good....

It not meat that's the problem, it's meat produced by cows that are fed grain/soy based feeds, which wreaks havoc with the human system.

Even if u go vegan, you still need to repair all the damage

Yep, the US packs so many things into food, its unreal. Travel to other (developed) countries and eat foods without all the hormones and crap in it, its like a totally different animal sometimes. Not even meat, its almost everything.

Its not a problem per se, just that the body works more efficiently not breaking down animal proteins. Plant based proteins are much more easily digestable. So its not that the meat is worse, just that I felt so much better on plants. Not to mention by eliminating meat, one tends to eat much more fiberous vegetables and grains which aid in digestion as well.

The meat, chicken and fish we eat that is mass produced is horrible though, all injected with fillers, hormones etc. Not good. But thats a seperate topic...

I could never do it, impossible. I love it to much.

My wife went vegetarian for a while, think she made it about 6 months before she started to eat a little bit of fish here and there, then shrimp and tuna and stuff, then eventually chicken, then eventually everything again lol.

I kind of liked it when she was Vegetarian, i didnt have to share my pepperoni pizza, or any of the stuff i ordered and what not lol.

We've go 2lbs of bacteria in our stomachs, and when we end up with more bad than good ones it doesn't matter what kind of diet we switch to if we first don't fix that problem. Migrating to a veggie diet is just a short term relief of pain with long term consequences, none of which addresses the underlying issues.

This will shed some light.

I am not a vegetarian. I had lunch with a potential business source a few weeks ago at a foo-foo vegan place in Venice, and I had the vegan tacos. They were actually okay. But I got righteous heartburn from them for some reason. I also had a watermelon drink.

It was all pretty pedestrian. But I swear this is true -- I believe the waitress kept farting as she went back and forth around her tables. Every few minutes I'd smell this fart smell. And it was really awkward because I'm there trying to get business from this lady I know, and I'm thinking it was the waitress. Farting out all that vegan nastiness.

Edit: I've just remembered more from this vegan place. It was called something like Gratitude Cafe. And the waitress, when she came up to the table, asked: "What do you have to be grateful for?" And all the food had the same kind of theme. Like the tacos were called 'transformed'. I just went and looked it up. And the lady I was meeting for lunch wanted to talk about what she was grateful for, and then wanted me to answer the question. It was freaking awful. The cheese is made out of cashews. It's a shame.

Just one more thing. I got this desert at this place. Tiramisu. Tiramisu is this beautiful Italian pudding thing. Well, this vegan version had no flour or dairy, but had something like almond based flour. It was like you died and went to hell, and even the desert sucked.

I'm one...beliefs mostly not necessarily morals. Don't get offended when people eat it around me, not an activist either.

Just curious has anyone considered becoming one or already are?

Not me. I find it cruel to eat the animals' food.

Poor hungry animals.

Well, if I ever have to eat there, I'm going to tell her I'd be grateful if she didn't crop dust my table.
