I'm quite sure that losing to the Saints and Eagles has crossed.......

Has crossed many minds on the ROD forum.

I mean, if we're being honest with each other about the Saints and Eagles games at home in LA being the true indicator of how to judge the Rams about their chances of making a run in the playoffs etc...

Even if our Rams collapsed but the Seahawks fold and hand us the NFC West Title, very few realists on the board will have faith that this team will do anything in the NFL playoff tournament other than a first round wildcard victory.

A select few of you might think differently but 2 of the next 3 games will likely tell us how good or almost good the Rams really are in 2017.

I'm aware that practically all of you already know this, so I'm not shedding any new light on your gifted football expertise.

(this is assuming the Rams beat a team like the Cardinals in between the Saints & Eagles games)

Getting a split with the top 2 NFC teams (Saints, Eagles) should reveal that we belong in the conversation as playoff spoilers and a mini run or more if the ball bounces our way.

Getting a sweep against the Saints and Eagles would send this board into a frenzy! (again assuming the Rams also beat the Cardinals)

I know, the most important thing is simply getting a playoff birth..

This is why I'm opening this seasons Rams present one game at a time and enjoying every single snap until they're out of the picture or holding up the sacred Lombardi trophy. We could end up 9-7 or 12-4... ?

Nobody on this board knows for sure but I think most of us believe this team is going to finish better than 8-8.

Nobody on this forum can make any guarantees but this game Sunday will tell us if the crap game they played at Minnesota last week was just a bump in the road or how well they truly stack up against the big boys.

I get what you're saying. But I'd like to add:
With the Rams being so young and moving to a 3-4 defense, I think they're still learning and feeling their way through the season.
They have a lot of pieces necessary for success, but are still learning and "putting it together", so to speak.
So as long as they keep learning and improving, they might actually make a nice little playoff run. Never know.

Rams team is so young and inexperienced I have no idea what to expect. I just want to see them compete and progress. I never expected them to make the playoffs before the season started or even 7 wins. I do expect them to beat the Cards and Whiners. They could win 4 or 5 more games or lose them all. From what I've seen up to now is they are inconsistent. I'm hopeing they make the playoffs. I'll still be happy with their season if they don't.

As I said Ants...

I'm not shedding any new light on anyone's gifted football expertise from the ROD forum.

This is a big, big, BIG game for our team this Sunday and they need to bounce back and get a win vs a top 5 NFL opponent.

They are young and they might be a bit gullible but they can turn the tide on this season with a victory in Los Angeles in front of the home crowd.

No excuses, teams that were their overall age have done it before and delivered. :yess:

Happy Thanks Giving brother!

Like I said on another board. I believe the Rams will close ranks and really battle this week. Saints better watch out!

I think back to the Cardinals teams that was hot and in a roll then hit a wall. Losing in embarrassing fashion against the Pats in the snow. Then, went on a run in the playoffs and into the Super Bowl.
A lot of vets on that team though.
Don't see it this year but you never know.
All I care about now is getting to 8 wins.
I see wins vs AZ, SF, Seattle and maybe Ten.
10-6.
A heck of a lot better than I expected.
So, just need Seattle to lose. The easiest path and likely only path, is winning the West.

Yeah the Saints and over rated Eagles also HAVE to play the Rams in LA

Guarantees?

There are no guarantees thru my eyes other than THESE Rams will execute much better than last week vs the team I feel is playing the best football in the NFL the New Orleans Saints.

Bring em on!!

Ive heard and used the "we're the youngest (one of the youngest) teams in the NFL" excuse throughout the entire Fisher era to justify our play. Even though we are still young, i refuse to use that excuse any longer. 6 years of the same excuse? Nope. Tell that excuse to the Seahawks who were one of the youngest teams in the NFL when they won their super bowl.

I think we can compete with the top teams but lack two things:

Home field advantage with a loud crowd.

Depth at key areas.

Rewatching the Vikings game, we could have easily won that game if not for losing the football by Kupp and drops by Kupp and Higbee. We also missed some clean sacks and lost two starting CB’s that changed everything.

The saints at home vs the 4-6 skins were down two TD’s with 4 minutes to go. Won the game on a series of freak plays at the end like we saw when we played the niners.

If we go into these contests healthy we can win. But in the playoffs, we will have to be road warriors and that will be a hell of a task for a young team.

It's been so long since we've even had a sniff of the playoffs that I'm just happy we matter this late into the season. Feels so good to have a shot. So for me, yeah, one game at a time and enjoy watching this young team grow week to week.

This is the best season we've had in nearly 20 years. Nothing is going to ruin it for me, not even falling short down the stretch. I love this team. But I also think they have the right stuff to not fall short down the stretch, so we'll see.

This forum is so refreshing.

I used to be a Chargers fan before they thankfully left San Diego where I live. On the Chargers forum I frequented there was so much delusional optimism about the team.

The posters on this board for the most part live in reality.

Let’s be fair though we never produced when we were the youngest team in the nfl we have the 2nd youngest I believe (behind the Browns I think how’s that working out for them )
I’d rather be 7-3 with the second youngest roster than have an aging roster like Seattle and their record

I mean the vikes loss was a blow ... but it was 7-7 (at the start of the 4th qtr )

Remember that first Giants team who beat the Pats in the Super Bowl? Nobody expected them to make the playoffs that year and when they squeezed in at 9-6 the got hot and peaked at the right time and whipped everybody on the road to get to the Super Bowl.

I think there is a chance on this team, it doesn’t have to be pretty but just get it done when It counts the most.

I dont think we can use age to justify our weaknesses when McVay is the youngest coach ever and is making us produce ten fold. I think it has to do with coaching and the system put in place, not necessarily age.

I honestly have no idea how good this team is. I thought we could beat minny but it was clear they were the better team. I don't like the matchup with the Saints either. Minny looks like the real deal. Saints too. When you have a Hall of Fame quarterback it gives you an edge.

I'm hoping last game was just a hiccup and we'll see them rebound this weekend or after. But I don't know. It does seem we're not as good as I thought after the 7-2 start. At least we're still in the playoff hunt when we get into December. Been a very long time since we could say that.
