I'm not sure Coach Fisher is the answer because...

I'm teetering on the edge with Fisher and I'm just about ready to jump into the chasm, especially with his Scott Wells obsession who really hasn't played anywhere NEAR the contract he was given in any of the years he'd been here.

Where were you 2 weeks ago coming off back to back shut outs?
I was here. But I'm also here this week. The week our Fisher coached team has us at a 6-9 record.

This is how I see my favorite team.

Not that history isn't important or anything... but I have to live in the present, especially with this team and how inconsistent they have been.

And that's the whole point... they haven't figured out how to be consistent.

Best defensive effort this year IMO? Holding Peyton Manning to 7 points.

Feasting on Oakland with David Carr and Washington with Colt McCoy were darned impressive but I still had that nagging caveat in my head... after all, it was Oakland with David Carr and Washington with Colt McCoy

And, while the Arizona game was an overall great defensive effort - again, there was that nagging thing in my head that said "yeah, but it was Stanton and then Lindley".
I think we saw what Lindley really is this past Sunday. And, I saw a few kinks in that game, most notably the amount of rushing yards the Rams defense gave up (143).

But that was history by this past Sunday, so I was curious how the defense would play against a good (starting) quarterback and decent offense.

I got my answer, at least for the most recent game... so, at least for me, I am still kind of wondering.

Seattle obviously poses lots of problems for defenses. If the Rams defense is really as good as I hope, I'm expecting a similar effort to what they did to Peyton Manning.

And I'm definitely not expecting anything like we saw Sunday!

This will be the eleventh non-winning season and the 4th head coach in that span. Let's go ahead and make another change, because *that* has certainly proven to be the winning formula. Every time we look for a new head coach, we end up with the one everyone wants, or the one who's the most sought after. Then we get him, he gets 3 years to turn things around, doesn't, and we rinse and repeat. Love it. We should write a book on the Rams Way.

It's really as simple as that. I can see the argument for cutting coaches after 3 years who never had any success at any level, but this isn't that case. And yeah, yeah, yeah, blah, blah, blah, Fisher is a .500 coach. Not enough people look into the reasons for his lean years and don't care to try. Instant gratification mentality and the rare 1 year success stories have spoiled NFL fans, and I can understand that too. But I'm really tired of the constant churning and lack of stability with this Organization. Get a freaking QB to stay healthy and have some support around him, and suddenly everything looks easier. This whole winning in the NFL thing is a challenge every single week. It's a harder challenge when your team is young and constantly beset by key injuries after its second consecutive rebuild in 5 years.

Sigh...
Actually, double sigh.
Quick, name all the brilliant coaches went to the playoffs with 3rd string QBs.

I'm waiting...
Warner was a 3rd stringer at one point. Does he count? ;)

My God! You've solved it! It's so simple, and yet nobody even stumbled upon the answer until just now!

Quick. Someone fine another Kurt Warner. I'll check my local markets here, and you see what you can find in your town.

For my next breakthrough, I hereby demand that our team score MORE points than the other team. This plan of scoring LESS just isn't working out for us.

I'm souring on Fisher a bit. The D has progressed but the penalties are maddening as well as the inconsistency of winning. I'm willing to give Fisher one more year before making a judgement on him. But the situation at QB is on him and Snead for not finding better alternatives than Davis, Gilbert, or Hill.

That questionable HC almost beat the Rams in the Superbowl, and...uh...
the Rams were pretty good that year.

Admittedly it's not that often. But we have to try and buck the trend here once in a while.

And they beat us in the regular season that year. But that was 15 years ago and losing the SB is still the best thing on Fisher's resume. Time to kick it up a notch: 2015 i'm looking at you...

Yeah, it is. There are a lot of coaches that had a 4th season and won a bunch, then had 3 more losing seasons and got axed too. The list of coaches who had sustained success over a long period of time is short. But they all have tremendous teams that they were coaching too. Jimmy Johnson and Tom Landry in Dallas, Walsh and Seifert in SF, Don Shula in MIA, Parcells in NY, Noll, Cowher and Tomlin in PITT, etc. If I think back on all the great players Fisher had over the years, I kinda struggle to list more than 5 or 6.

Boy, I don't see any way he goes after this year... I'd bet a considerable amount of money he'll be back for 2015.

And, I'd bet "some" money his Coodinators will be too.

So, I don't look for much strategy change in 2015.

The only thing I expect is a different roster... how dfferent? That's the key to whether he makes it to 2016 or not.

Yes, the roster has a lot more potential than when he came. But, sooner or later, that has to translate to wins.

If the strategy isn't changing, the roster has to be the thing to get us over the hump.

The problem wasn't the changing of coaches. The problem is the hiring of bad ones in the first place. None of the 4 you mentioned were the answer and the Rams did the right thing firing each and every one of them.
