If they like Cleveland's C, Mack, maybe work a deal where Cleveland will then not match a Rams offer and include it in a trade down from #2 to #4.

Just an added sweetner from Cleveland and it keeps the Rams from having to come up with a poison pill type contract that would also hamper the Rams cap.

So trade down, essentially get Mack to solidify the interior OL, and also get #26 or a 2nd and another pick this year or next.

So the Browns give up their two first round picks and their star C for the Rams slot that is two positions higher than theirs?

That town would be at the homes of the guys running the team with molotov cocktails.

I just don't see us spending our limited FA dollars on a centre. We have Wells ( granted he will probably be cut before the season starts), Barrett and Barnes.

Not sure I understand what you are saying. Mack is an unrestricted free agent. He is not tied to Cleveland in any way.

EDIT-Sorry, didn't realize they put transition tag on him.

Well, they might fear losing him anyway or having to eat up a big chunk of their cap when you look at some of the crazy deals that have been handed out thus far. Maybe the Rams settle for a pick next year as your right, that price could be too one-sided. Plus, there are some solid C's that could be had by Cleveland with one of their numerous early picks in rounds 2 or 3.

Greco playing good football for the Browns because the idiots running the Rams at the time cut him. Thanks Spagnuolo and Devaney. Good work there!

Alex Mack plans to visit teams, has none scheduled

Earlier this week, Browns Center Alex Mack’s agent Marvin Demoff said that he was confidentthat he could put together a deal for his client that the Browns, who placed a transition tag on Mack, wouldn’t be able to match.

So far, though, there’s been no offer and no deal to force the Browns into making a decision about how to proceed with Mack. Tim Younger, another one of Mack’s agents, said that Mack is in no hurry to sign the transition tag and that he’s willing to be patient while the process plays out. One part of the process that’s still on tap is visiting with teams that are interested in signing Mack away from Cleveland.

“We do anticipate Alex making visits — but he’s not in any hurry to do so either,” Younger said, via the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Mack has until late July to sign the transition tender, which would pay him $10.039 million in 2014, and can speak to other teams until he does. One team that has reportedly expressed interest is the Colts, who signed Phil Costa on Thursday. Costa’s deal wouldn’t appear to preclude a move on Mack should the Colts want to move in that direction, but, for now, it’s still a waiting game for Mack.
