Before my son was born, at age 40, I did some incredibly risky things because I didn't much care what happened to me. But once fatherhood came along, everything changed and I became overly careful because I wanted to be around to raise him. I'm guessing this dude is young, single, and without children. If not, someone should have a discussion with him.

I don't know if it was daring or just stupid, but I drove my Trans Am 150+ mph on the turnpike one night (about 2:30 am) while being slightly inebriated.

When I was in my early twenties I drove a 61 Austin Healey Sprite. On several occasions some friends of mine, who owned sports cars, and myself met in Los Gatos, CA late at night. We would then drive Highway 17 to Santa Cruz with the lights out and see who could get to the beach first. Highway 17 is full of dangerous twists and turns. I drove a VW bug down there one night while on an acid trip. Crazy bastards all of us.
Then there was the alleged hang gliding incident off some cliffs during a blackout. Of course that doesn't count because I don't remember doing it. Maybe my buddies were just messing with me.

Stopped watching 15 seconds in. I can't take it.
I've always hated heights. When I was a child (7-years-old or so), my cousin's (now ex) husband held me over a balcony at a condo in Myrtle Beach, SC. I've never forgotten about that. Even now, crazy heights make me sick. Went to a wedding in Myrtle Beach in May 2008, and I was sitting on the balcony talking to somebody when we saw some guy (we were way up), standing on a chair, looking over the freakin' railing! He wasn't doing anything except enjoying the view, I guess, but the fact that this alleged thrill seeker was doing that made me so stick my stomach I had to go inside and lie down

My biggest fear is of heights. My knees buckle.
I posted this video some years back concerning this very subject.
This is the highest and fastest zip line in the world so they say. It's in Costa Rica on the side of a volcano.
My wife is smiling and laughing in the front of the line to get on... I'm the only guy sitting down in the very back corner of the tower trying not to look down.
This is just one of the many zip lines you had to endure to get to the bottom of the volcano. I had the guide take this vid for me with my camera so that I could see what it looked like... my eyes were closed every time.

I am pretty much afraid of heights. I wasn't always this way, but when I got into my 30's I think I started to appreciate consequence and developed the fear I have today.
Mind you, it's not a crazy fear. If I'm safe and secure, I'm pretty tolerant of heights. But this guy is just stupid. Dare Devils like him die because they do not anticipate the "what if".
On a side note; I've gone skydiving 2x. It's a different kind of height. I wasn't scared at all. But put me on a 10' ladder and my knees will shake.

The craziest think I ever did was bungy jump of a bridge.
A friend of mine was dating a guy that ran an illegal operation in Cali. It's illegal to jump off bridges out here apparently.
We drove up into the mountains late one evening. They send guys about 3 miles both directions with radios, to keep a lookout for Cal Trans and Police.
They strapped the cord to my ankles, climbed up onto the ledge and did a swan dive into the darkness.

Im glad you said it Tron, but, I am right there with ya.
Up four or five rungs to change a light bulb and I get light headed feeling when I look up.

I was never much of a risk taker.
In the town I grew up in there was a two lane road on the outskirts of town, we would race down it, one car in each lane, top speed would be about 110 mph. The reason it topped out there is there was a hair pin turn at the end of it. The amazingly stupid thing is it never really occurred to me....what if someone else was coming around the turn....amazingly stupid and selfish. We would race and try to make the other guy pull in behind. Just so stupid.
I would also go off the end of the pier at night. Go swimming at midnight or 2 am or whatever in the ocean. Or just jump in and float around on my back. On a moonless, dark night with when the water was still....it was spooky man.

I'm not afraid of heights, but that just seems stupid in my opinion. That's the difference between that kid and these guys, they're up much higher, but they're not being idiots.
