How do you feel about preseason?

I personally love the Rams preseason. Last year you could tell from the game against the Raiders that our offense would be pretty good.

Now that the Rams are really good, it will be even more fun watching the depth - LB will be a really great watch, even in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

But most importantly, once the first game happens, that means from that point on there's basically a Rams game every week until the end of December!

I find preseason to be a love/hate thing.

Love when a new guy does well, and hate it when a new guy under preforms... which, makes preseason a great watch!

Same, I loathe it when there are injuries involved regardless if you're a starting player, role player, or camp body.
It's a nice opportunity for players to showcase their talents in seeing if they'll make the final 53.

You gotta love it because it helps us all to figure who is going to make the team, and then find out on the cutoff period just how wrong or right we are. In the mean time we can have constructive debates in backing up our opinion, and then later have bragging rights when we find out we were right, or be willing to face the music when we end up being so wrong. Sure there's risk, but that is the life of the player and the fan.

So what's not to love?

Hate it, wish the leauge would do a summer leauge for the young guys and free agents .

I know its football and everyone needs reps but I cant stand losing veteran players to injury in order to make young guys better .

Pre season is where McVay and Wade will sort out the backups and figure out the final 53. Don't expect to see much of the starting vets, Whit, Sully, Barron, Brockers.

We'll all get a good look at UDFA's and the bottom of the roster.

Last year we went to the first preseason game against the Raiders. I got seats behind our bench because I enjoy watching our sideline as well.

I found you get a story in itself. Its where I first saw where McVay positions himself during offensive plays and how he works the sideline while the defense is on the field. Although he isn't watching all the defensive plays from out front where almost if not every HCs in the league are, he did watch every play on video screens. Way too soon to have made judgements on SMs abilities as a head coach, but certainly a different approach to management.

Like everyone, I hate possibilities of injury but do like to see what second tier players stand out.

One thing I have learned is you really don't get to see the playbook in pre-season. Its pretty vanilla.

But it is still football and like the regular season, try not to miss a second.

This year it will be more interesting. There are a lot of new players to watch that are starters. Even more interesting are the number of rookies and young veterans looking for PT. Lot's of new numbers to get use to. Everyone is pulling for their favorites and we all get to share comments here on ROD.

Love preseason. Lets us get a decent look at our depth and who may stand out. Not much to see with our starting line up, but the guys who are 2nd and 3rd string play their hearts out considering it may be their last chance to prove themselves.

I was more geeked up last year around this time simply due to not knowing fully what to expect of our new staff and young players, even though we clearly had upgraded the coaching. This year there's a comfort level where I know the offense is going to be elite from the first snap on through the end of the season, and it feels really good. So even though I'm not on pins and needles like last season, there's a contentment I haven't felt in a long time re: preseason.

My plan on my camp visits is to focus moreso on the defense for that reason. Outside of the OL (which are moreso concerns for next offseason) the concerns in my mind are almost all revolving around the defense and roster changes, and whether they brought in enough for Wade to field a top defense.

Our defense is weak on the edges and weak up the middle vs the run IMO. Will that change? I don't know but I am very excited to see what this staff can do with the pieces. This should be a fun preseason.

I usually skip the first and last games and only watch the series the starters are in in games 2 and 3 - in other words, not a lot of interest.

I'm mainly looking for trends that may carry over into the regular season. As you say, you could tell last year Goff was much sharper and Gurley was looking more like his old self. Then there was 2016 and the flat, uninspired showing against Dak Prescott, who carved us up. Set an ominous portent for the season.

I love it.

-It's the first time for most people to finally see their team, new players and all, in full uniform.

-I get to "scout" for obscure players for my fantasy team.

-Finally something worth watching on Friday and Saturday nights.

-I like watching the regional games seeing the local markets' broadcast.

-It's football.

Three thoughts on the Preseason:
1. It the F***ing RAMS!!!
2. I'll catch every last second of it -one way or another. It's full of vanilla and bloated rosters. I keep reminding myself that's it's the Preseason.

This year I'm particularly peeved at scheduling the raiders for the 2nd preseason game. I know there are times when 2 teams will meet in both preseason and then in the regular season, but we play the raiders OPENING NIGHT! Like these teams are gonna be playing anybody crucial or showing anything. It's almost a complete waste of time.
