With the new pictures being posted, I have now become curious; how did y'all come upon your username? Myself personally, when I was in the Navy, I was quite the cocky young man, always calling myself the juggernaut(shaking my head in shame). After I got out, I was at a Mexican restaurant with some friends and we were doing our share of drinking. Eventually leading to me standing up and yelling "I am El Juggernauto" ( still shaking my head) but it stuck with me and now I look back and just laugh at it.

Well my wife looked at me about 9:30 one night and said" feelin' frisky?"
About 9:32 I'm layin' there with a cig . in my mouth thinkin' " what should I name that one?" :lmao:

My mother is a Norwegian immigrant and I always liked the name Thor as a tribute to her heritage,so after long wrangling with my wife( way longer than making him :ww: ) I finally got to use it ....as his MIDDLE name, which he of course insisted upon we use as soon as he got the chance.
Funny though, I still call him by his first name ,pisses him off,I love it :p

Yeah...my username on a lot of sites is either Silent Memento (in one case, with no spaces between the two words) or Memento, for short (prefer the latter).

You see, I dedicated this username to my uncle (well, he was technically a cousin, but my dad grew up almost entirely in his family), who was probably the only person at the time who thought that I had a chance to become a writer. He kept encouraging me, kept lifting up my spirits when I thought that I hadn't done a great job, etc. Probably the nicest man I've ever known...and he died of a massive heart attack at the age of forty.

I already had a username on the site I wrote on, but I figured that since I had wrote two terrible stories (and the username I had before was utterly stupid anyway; I won't even get into it), that I should probably reinvent who I was as an author, which included changing my penname. So - on the advice of someone who was a friend at the time - I decided to use two words that were dedicated to my uncle. Silent Memento equals "Quiet Keepsake". In other words, memories. And since the word "memento" is very close to "memories" as it is, the username just fit, you know?

My first car was my inspiration. When I was like 17 I bought an 89 cougar. I loved the car and wanted to know everything about it so I joined my first internet forum. I was sitting.g there like I like to drive fast and a cougar is a cat... So Fastcat was born. I use it as my username on everything.

Mine is pretty simple and not near as good of a story as Memento's.

When I started visiting Rams sites, I lived in the 503 and... I... am... a Rams fan. Purdy exciting - eh? :tooth:

The first post I ever responded to at RamStalk was about the officiating travesty that was SB36. I had a different user then. A lot of the posters bitched at me for keeping that thread going, since I was apparently rubbing salt in the wound. That was early in 2007.

Then came the cheating allegations in September of that year, the destruction of the tapes by Goodell, followed by the rumors of Bellichik taping Ram walk-throughs in 2002, just prior to the Giants making the Patriots 18-1. And still posters at RamStalk complained there was nothing to it.

In defiance of them, I changed my user. In essence, I told them I was never going to stop.

X provided me with the sig when I joined here.

I'm trying to follow you here but I am struggling. Can you explain that a different way?

Memento has a great one. Mine is just my name given to me by my father.

There are a couple of things that lead me to my username. On a few other Ram forums I am Haile Selassie I. When ROD first started that name was too long, so I shortened it to Selassie I. Same meaning really.

First, I have a huge affinity for Reggae music. It's almost always playing in our house somewhere. I've been drawn to it since I was very young... my Mom even took me to see Bob in like 78 or 79 when he played in Hawaii before we moved back to the mainland. The positive messages that usually make up Reggae music speak to me.

Second, I have been going to the same little island in the Bahamas for almost 20 years. Fishing with a rod and reel or a speargun is the only other passion I have that comes close to my Ram Fandom. My wife and I have a small place on that island that we wish we could spend more time in. We have many very close Bahamian friends on this tiny rock (there are no cars on this island... just golf carts it's so small). Some of our friends happen to be Rastafarians. I value their simple way of life and their sincerity more than I can describe with words. I can let my 3 boys go anywhere on the island anytime day or night and know that they are being watched after,,, can't do that anywhere else.

I choose the name out of respect.

Mems... I'm glad you shared your reason. I noticed that your actual smile matches your avatar as well. Great stuff Brudda.

I picked something at random years ago when making a handle for an online game, and it made me laugh because I have the maturity of a 10 year old.

Your story is certainly better than mine! My nickname in the Army would just make people think it was my real name, so I couldn't use that.

During my first deployment one of our terps started calling me Azrael (Angel of death/punishment in Islam), and the name stuck through the remainder of my career. I suppose that people may not actually think it's my name, but with the religious connotation, I don't want to use it and risk offending anyone.

If you Google airport "call letters"... CGI is the letters for Cape Girardeau regional airport.

In 2005 I lived there.

I'm a huge weather nut. When I began participating in forums I grabbed those call letters based off radar/weather reporting ID's.

In retrospect I wish I had been more creative. Now, I'm sort of labeled as CGI.

That's my story.

Good topic El Jug.

My skills with photo shop are cheesy but admittedly targeted to be funny.

I haven't flexed that lately... I need the season to start for inspiration. Can you get Goodell on that?
