Hey guys had to post a thread when i saw the pro bowl lineups come out i was a little bugged to see only three of our guys made it. I know teams that have winning records get more players in but to me not seeing Trumaine's name get called really got me going. I put a list of stats below that shows all the pro bowlers i added Johnson's and Jenkin's stats in just so you can see how they stacked up. To me Johnson was a top 5 corner this year. I think they really need to fix the way players get picked for the pro bowl. Let me hear your thoughts. Dont get me wrong i think there is a few other guys that got snubbed from other teams cause i think fans see the big names like Revis, Peterson and Sherman and automatically vote for them

Lack of name recognition.

If he has the same type of year and the Rams have a good defense next season, I'd say he definitely gets in imo.

Gotta agree. The pro bowl is more about names than production and quality play some times.

The guys that have had great, or at least flashy, years get in when they've been at it a while and get media recognition. Hopefully this team is more relevant in the eyes of the reporters and analysts when they win more games next year. Then you should see pro bowl numbers jump a bit.

I agree with everything in this thread. I will say this, it doesn't break my heart to see less Rams in the Pro Bowl. I do not want our guys risking injury in a meaningless game. I like our guys getting recognition, but hate seeing them play that meaningless game.

WWell 4 of those INTs came in the last 4 weeks. Balloting ended 12/15 sooooo...... might be different if voting occurred now. This is like a hitter going on tear before the all star break , but after voting/selection has ended.ell 4 of those came in the last 4 weeks.

You hit the nail right on the head. I would add because the Rams are not in the national spotlight as some of the other teams, and our guys don't get recognized, with the exception of Gurley and Donald for the most part. This will change next year because the networks should be smart enough to see this team has hopefully turned the corner and they want to show off some of our rising stars. But then the NFL runs everything so we will still be on the outside looking in because we're not the Packers, Cardinals, Seahawks, Cheatriots, or have Winston and Mariotta playing QB, blah, blah, blah. Mark my words these two will be the next "NFL Darlings" and they will be plastered all over everything the NFL spews out over the next 8 months after the season is over.

Any stats on completion percentage against? To me, that's one of the biggest factors when rating corners. Interceptions are beautiful, but if you allow a big amount of plays, it cancels out in my opinion. Not saying that Tru does, just justifying why I ask about the percentages.

It will probably save the team millions over the next 4-5 years if they resign him.Had he made it there would be alot teams throwing money at him.Hopefully we do resign Tru and try to keep our young core players together on D.

Kinda funny we have all been talking that Jenkins is the better corner but the way tru has played I'm starting to think we're all wrong

Jenkins is the flashier player, for sure. But if they only have enough money to keep one of the 2, I'd prefer they keep Tru.

Because the Pro Bowl is a popularity contest, so if he doesn't get recognized by the players and coaches then there's no way in hell a lesser name on a losing team is going to get in no matter how well he's balling out because casual football fans cares absolutely zip and zilch about that.

When people think the Rams, all they think is Donald, Quinn, Gurley, Austin and JJ. Tru just doesn't come up because he doesn't have the star power to break past them.

Lot of people always assumed JJ was the corner other teams would go after in FA. After this season it that might have changed.

love the INTs but, IMO Jenkins is the better player. I read a quote somewhere that Wilson rarely targeted Jenkins for the 2nd time this year. And the only game I can think of that was bad for Jenkins was the Bengal game.
