Janoris Jenkins, CB, St. Louis Rams (second round, No. 39)

Jenkins has outstanding transition quickness, knows angles and boy, does he have closing speed. He's the best corner in this class at closing a cushion -- as well at breaking on the ball. He's small (5-foot-10), but is a terrific competitor, is confident and is a capable blitzer. He also played a ton of man-to-man in college. He doesn't yet understand offensive patterns, but he's a player who can compete against an opponent's top receiver. With the injuries St. Louis had at corner last season, he and Trumaine Johnson should help shore up the secondary in this 4-3 defense. Jenkins can play on the outside or in the slot, but I would expect that he'll see more time at the slot corner in the nickel. If he's outside, he needs to watch out for double moves. Teams will look to use his aggressiveness against him.

Verdict: Huge upgrade at CB for a team that desperately needs it. Could play outside or in the slot. Likely to start Week 1. Will see a lot of playing time even if he doesn't start.
