Interesting. I recall reading that if you collect the positively charged Ions then negative ions are left behind and somehow that is supposed to be bad for our health.

I don't know, never heard that. I've heard the body does better when alkaline promoting (blood alkalinity) foods are consumed, hence Alkaline Diet, etc.
