Not for the Super Bowl....to see Metallica.
My wife is a huge Metallica fan and I managed to score a couple of good seats for their concert in SF night before the Super Bowl. Staying across the bay and taking the ferry into SF the Saturday morning and taking a special ferry post concert back across. It will be interesting to see how messed up the toilet by the bay is. Not being fearful or anything but Paris ran through my head more than once. Just as frightening is SF traffic on a weekend like that. A huge concert on a Saturday before the Super Bowl. Will be interesting to say the least....or, maybe just another day in Americas weirdest city.

NICE......have fun. Record the game tho....(y)
and...don't worry the security must be unreal. I would say the only thing you need to worry about is a massive earthquake. :D
And the endless beggars....although they may be chased out of the city too for the big game....

San Francisco is such a dope city. There's nothing like seeing homeless people smoke crack without a single fuck given.

What? A concert the night before? Wow, I am surprised they would do that with such an enormous event the next day.

Nice to hear you'll see Metallica, I almost forgot about them and would never turn down (another) live opportunity. Enjoy, especially the whole atmosphere experience.

Show was great.
An absolute cluster to get anywhere in the city. We stayed across the bay in a cheap hotel in Vallejo. Took the ferry to SF. We missed the 11:30 ferry because there were massive lines, so, had to until until 2:30. So, me and the wife would take turns waiting and drinking....there was a little bar next to were the line was. Finally got into the city at about 3:30 or so. It let out right by fishermans wharf, which is right where the Super Bowl City was set up. But, the line to get into that was about 3 hours long. So packed one could barely move down there. So, walked to the baseball stadium area....most bars and restaurants were well over an hour wait at that point with crowds out to the street. Found a little place that was a grilled cheese restaurant. Food was good (amazing potato soup....two club sandwiches, a bowl of soup, pitcher of beer for $58). Had some more beers and finally walked down to ATT Park for the concert. Again, huge line. So, started out about 11am sat down in our seats at the concert about 6:50pm....all but maybe 90 minutes of that was waiting in lines with a little walking mixed in. Crazy.
But, people were polite and cool and the concert was great. Even saw three or four Rams fans wearing jerseys at the concert.

I would say it sounded like fun, but I hate waiting in line. I couldn't stand the lines at Disney in the off-season. But, at least you weren't dragging kids along.

Yeah, that was key for sure. It was nearly 70 degrees too, that helped as well.
