Nah Goff throws bullet spirals when he needs to.
His balls do look like wobblers sometimes when he's on the move but they go where they need to go and in a timely manner so I don't mind.

I prefer the finesse on his passes even with the wobbly throws; at least they're catchable. The drop rate with our receivers were high when Bradford was playing with us because of those consist darts. Plus it mitigates wear-and-tear on Goff's arm.

I have been saying this (in different words of courseo_O) about Goff's passes. At first it was a little unsettling. Well it still is a bit. But the damn things tend to go right where they should far more often than not. It just looks to come out of his hand funny and then flutter through the air. Oddly enough though, when they show them on replay, they are actually spirals in most cases. I can't really explain it. But I don't really care. The kid is proving why he was the best option available.

I remember Kurt never threw a pretty ball, but damn if he wasn't accurate.

Boy, I dunno... he seems to have good pocket presence to me... when things heat up, he rolls out and he has shown me (thus far) that he can make accurate throws on the run. And not some dink throws... 25+ yard throws, on the run, accurately.

I know he's gonna eventually have a clunker... so I'm enjoying this while it lasts.

Except for that untimely INT last week, I'm not sure you can find much fault in his pplay this year.

Exactly what I was trying to say...before being distracted by Jared's big beautiful bouncing balls

The young man has been impressive this season. Maybe it is RIPTSD (Ram Induced Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), but I hold my breath on a lot of his throws. First, he seems oblivious to the rush and I can almost feel a strip sack coming (thankfully hasn't happened yet). Second, he throws a kinda weird almost "soft" flutter ball.

However, I don't care about his fluttery, funny balls as long as he keeps up that accuracy. Man, he has been good. His play makers are really helping him out too. Fun to watch.

So strange. It reads like a compliment but sure doesn't feel like it.

I just notice that he isn't very good at throwing on the run.

His mechanics break down a bit when he's on the run. But he's improved there a little in last night's game, particularly that high risk throw across his body to the middle of the field that he completed. Scared the crap out of me, and don't do it again ok, but he did a better job than in the preseason and first two games in his throws on the run.

What I did notice last night is if he doesn't slow his stride his accuracy is terrible. When he slows up a bit he gets better results. That throw to Woods, just wow. Told my wife who was patently ignoring both myself and the game at that moment "now that was a pro throw right there."

He just doesn't throw every pass as hard as possible like Bradford.

Goff has some nice touch on his passes. I understand what you mean though.

His touch is really good, and I suspect that's why he has always been so good in the red zone.

Tom Brady doesn't even have balls, but he's made it to 40yrs old as a starter.

Did they finally get totally deflated??? :)

His balls are lovely.

You say that to a lot of guys I bet.

But the damn things tend to go right where they should far more often than not.

He has that same type of "rainbow" thing going that Warner did. The pass to Watkins was practically an alley-oop play, it seemed like the ball wasn't even on screen for most of the distance it traveled. Sometimes he seems to prefer to "drop it in" rather than rifle it in. In the middle is another story, he puts it on a rope comparatively speaking.

Look at his screen passes too........he feathers it in so Gurley can grab it on the go. As the year goes on and they get more experience with that play it's going to create some BIG gains.

The one where he threw across his body to Robert woods was pretty cool too. Hes done that at cal a few times.

That was one of the best passes of the night without a doubt. Very impressive and Woods looks like he isn't afraid to go for the YAC. The other pass that @yrba1 linked to was also fantastic. Those are the type of plays that win games.
