I noticed yesterday that the NY Giants released WR Cruz, should the Rams be interested!? IF he's healthy!

I'd pass. He is old, and wouldn't do us any good at this point in time.

Here's an illustration of what happens to NY Giant WR after they leave the team:

He's a dime a dozen WR at this point. Guess it depends on which dime the front office finds most shiny when trying to piece together a WR unit in the offseason that is passable for one season and how they view all of our rookies. But he doesn't excite me.

If the Rams can't get any WR help in FA, bring him in as a camp body on a one year $2M non guaranteed deal. Make him earn the spot and show veteran leadership.

IIRC during the Giants playoff game they said he didn't have the same explosiveness as in years past. Torn patella tendon in 2014.

Torn calf muscle in 2015.

I doubt he would be a priority for the Rams. However, he is the type of player (attitude wise) the Rams could use. An undrafted underdog player that plays with emotion. He just turned 30 November. If he can show his old explosiveness before training camp I would bring him in. At the least, his don't quit attitude could help the young WRs. Free agent WR are going to be expensive.

Pass, had a nice run in that 2011 Super Bowl run though; just living off his name at this point.

We could use some vet depth and he'd be economical.

Also knows what it's like to play on a winning team in the NFL, something that can't be said for virtually any player on last year's roster.
