I'll take the Giants +2.5 against Dallas.

And no way I'm betting Denver -9.5, not against the Ravens.

if you are planning on taking the giants, it would be worth the extra 10 bucks (on every 100 dollar bet) to buy the half pt to give you nyg +3 (this is called buying the hook). the reason i say this is based on my comments regarding key numbers in an earlier post in this thread.

just saw where one of my offshore books has moved the rams season win total to 7' games -130. this tells me that some late money is coming in on them to win 8 or more games this season!

last night, den-bal: as most of you know, i bet den late last week at -9 and by yesterday evening line had moved to the 7-7' range. realizing that i had gotten the worst of it by betting earlier in the week, i bought some more of den at -7 on tuesday in hopes that the line would move back up to the 9 ish range and i could take a shot at a middle opportunity by betting bal +9 or 9'. didnt work out that way so i stuck with my original two bets. my next train of thought was to watch the first quarter of the game and hope that den would strike quickly, giving me the opportunity to make a live "in game" bet on bal thru one of my offshore accts. obviously taht didnt happen either, so i watched a little of the 2nd qtr and went to bed thinking i had a definite loser. it was quite a surprise to see that denver opened up on them in the 2nd half for a win.

remember, bet against sb champs at beginning of season until they cover...

Thanks.
If my personal history means anything when it comes to betting the NFL I will need all the luck I can get....I enjoy it, but, I am pretty bad at it.

haha same. I do a pick sheet every week, usually 5 picks for $2 and I never win lol

this week I got:

Colts -9.5

Chiefs -4.5

the under 36.5 for Bucs/Jets game

9'ers -4.5 (even though I'm hoping they get destroyed)

Texans - 4.5

How'd I do R(g)ambler?

well, i think you got a good line on the colts game. it is currently at 10.5. unfortunately for you, nearly 85% of public is on them as well. that line could get to 11 or so by gametime. but again, you got it off of the key number 10 so that is a plus. i played jax in the las vegas hilton contest i entered, so one of us will win that one! no opinion on the und in ny. the sf line opened at 5.5 and has stayed at 4.5, so apparently someone liked the packers. finally, im against you on the prime time monday nt game. i will most always take a home dog on thur, sun or monday nt. heres how i see your card:

ind -9.5 win
chiefs -4.5 loss
und 36.5 win
sf -4.5 win
hou -4.5 loss

good luck!

and just to add joe. the nfl is all about parity, any team can win on any given day, esp late in season. look for home underdogs these are a key esp in nfl! if playing totals, if a line comes out in the 36 range, these have a tendency to stay under. on the other hand if a line comes out in the 49 range, these have a tendency to get over.

my main tip would be to play more dogs than favs. public loves betting favs and hopefully we all know how the publics win/loss record is.

first let me say that im sorry if i have offended anyone with any posts regarding sam bradford or any name calling, my apologies are to the mods of this site also. i will not post any opinions of players or make any comments stating my position or my views of any more games this season. i enjoy reading the majority of the comments here but unfortunately, dont feel that i can give my honest opinion on certain players so i will refrain. again my sincere apologies for previous comments....

with that said, its has been a decent season for gambling in the nfl! this week will be my first play on our stl rams (+3.5)! as stated previously, i love playing home dogs on any prime time game. the only stat that worries me slightly is that the 49ers are 2-0 since 2006 in any game with a total over 38 and coming off a loss as a favorite (-10' vs indy). they are 8-4 straight up and 11-0 against the spread in this time frame. the avg spread in these games has been 1.3 and the avg total is 42.4.

current line opened with sf -3' with the o/u set at 44 has now moved to 41' and at most offshore/vegas casinos, set at 42.

good luck this week everyone and go rams!

Don't play the martyr card. You're free to express your opinions anytime you want. All we ask (as the staff) is for people to do so in a way that's not overly inflammatory and intentionally argumentative. Anyone with a modicum of intelligence is able to ascertain what's going to start a shitty discussion and what won't.

if i am allowed to reply to this, i dont think i was "overly inflammatory". argumentative, possibly. but that is one of the reason i joined rod. i simply stated an opinion and wanted to hear opinions from other members here. some seemed to take the comments well and others didnt , which as far as im concerned is fine! im not getting my feelings hurt if someone has an opinion on any specific player. again, my apologies to those that were offended!
