Have we forgotten that he was the SEC defensive player of the year? Just because he was drafted at 249 doesn't mean his value and ranking is 249. Prejudices and stereotypes dropped him to that number not his work on the football field. I think this is the steal of the draft. Jersey sales or not.

do the right thing? the right thing would be to ignore his sexual orientation and make him make the team on his football abilities, not by giving him a roster spot just because he is gay.

The entire suggestion by Florio is insidious. It implies that Sam can't make the team otherwise; that Fisher would make that choice over talent.

On the other hand, the NFL itself might be the ones to apply pressure.

If he plays like he's done so far tonight, he's at least practice squad! He's a upfield rush guy, not a run stopper, for sure!
