“Your success starts in your division,” Fisher said earlier this week. “If you’re able to win most of the games in the division, then typically, you have a shot to play in the postseason. Now, we let way too many games go early, but you’ve got to compete in the division. You have to build yourself to compete in the division. So far, we’re on the right track. We’re not there yet, but we’re on the right track.”

Fisher speaks from experience. After getting the Tennessee Titans settled in Nashville, Fisher coached the franchise to the NFL’s fifth-best winning percentage (.591) over a 10-season stretch that began in 1999.

It's a good measuring stick really.

Even though Fisher would never admit that this team is rebuilding, this is exactly what needed to be seen to know that things are moving in the right direction. They are in good position to make a big jump next year...and an even bigger one the following year.
