So this seems to be the hot topic among all the analysts out there but I wanted to make a poll and see what everyone here thinks.
Do you think it is important to start Goff day one and let him get as much starting experience as possible regardless if he struggles (similar to his 1st year at Cal)? Or do you think it is a better decision to start Keenum for a few weeks to a year so Goff can learn more from the sidelines and be more prepared when he goes into action?
The main arguments against starting him immediately are injury concerns from not being able to protect himself or him ruining his confidence level by struggling early. The argument against benching him for awhile is him not being able to develop by getting real action.
Personally I think most all of these arguments are valid, but in Goff's case, he was able to start from day one at Cal and overcome his struggles so I think he should do the same here. I vote start him day one (even though it is a hard...
So my son is a Cardinals fan (it started when Kurt Warner played there) and today I asked him if he would trade straight across Todd Gurley for David Johnson. He thought about it for a bit and said no. He thinks David Johnson is better than Gurley in the system that Arizona runs, namely, a lot of screen passes to the RBs.
Now my son, 19 years old is normally pretty darn intelligent (except regarding this hypothetical trade). I told him he's crazy, that Gurley is a LOT better than Johnson. Still, he said he wouldn't do that trade if it was his decision.
So, I'm asking all of you, what "stats" or "common sense" reasoning would you tell my son to help him understand the obvious, that Gurley is insanely talented and it would be a steal if AZ had the opportunity to trade Johnson for Gurley straight across? What words would you use to make him understand the error of his ways, haha!
Are the Rams grooming Sean Mannion to replace Case Keenum?
By: Jake Ellenbogen | 7 hours ago
The NFL is a strange profession. Some players become 10-year veterans, while others find themselves out of the league in a heartbeat.
Case Keenum, who is at the moment the presumed to be the Los Angeles Rams starting quarterback by some, could find himself off the roster next season. How crazy does that sound? While Keenum obviously won’t be out of the league or anything near that, he signed a tender with the Rams, but it was only for one year. This means that the 28-year-old QB will be a free agent come 2017.
Keenum has had a pretty average career overall, and with rookie signal caller Jared...
Looking at this roster, it is very cool to see that almost all of our starters are guys that were drafted or picked up as undrafted free agents by the rams, not a lot of teams are built like that but I love how ours is. I think these guys are really coming together and maturing together definitely helps.
DEFENSE: Quinn, Brockers, Donald, Ogletree, Truu, Gaines, Joyner, Roberson, Mcdonald, Alexander, Cody Davis, all of these guys have only played for the rams.
OFFENSE: Goff, Gurley, Cunningham, Austin, Quick, Cooper, Thomas, Kendricks, Higbee, G-Rob, Havenstein, Brown, Saffold , all of these guys have only played for the rams.
Not too long ago the rams were always a bunch of guys put together that didn't jell, or a bunch of young guys that didn't work out. Since Fisher and Snead took over this team has been built the right way and has a lot of young building blocks . Seasons almost here and I'm getting pumped !! if the young guys perform to their talent level this team has a...
I'm sure this has been posted in some form here, but I didn't see it. (Yeah..I suck with search functions) I'm curious what the age demographic on this fine site is? For Me, I became a part of the Rams Family in 1969 at the tender age of 6. Really got into them and football rabidly around 71. Suffered with many of you through the ground chuck years all the way to '94, never winning a championship. We were finally rewarded with the GSOT in '99, where I saw one of my life's dreams come true. Attending the Super Bowl in Atlanta was one of the top 3 experiences of my life.
One of the other top 5 experiences came with the January announcement that our Rams were returning to LA. While I feel extreme empathy with my St. Louis brethren, this was something I NEVER thought I would see in my lifetime and I am beyond ecstatic.
When did you become part of the herd?
Guys.... Warren tells me that he'd like to do a "Q & A" for us here at ROD.
If you'd like to ask him a question... PLEASE POST IT IN THIS THREAD
I'm thinking that we'll leave this open until maybe July 10th for submitting questions.... so you have some time to think about it. Post your questions here and we'll see what we come up with.
2016 Rams Roster Preview: Is Cody Wichmann the Heir Apparent to Rodger Saffold?

He surprised in 2015. His role might decrease in 2016, but his long term future with the team looks bright.
Cody Wichmann has grown used to being underrated. Coming from a small town in California and after attending Fresno State he has long flown under the radar. After being selected to the All-Mountain West Second Team in his senior year he was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the 6th round of the 2015 NFL draft.
Once arriving to the Rams, he failed to shed his underdog role - with 3k only...
Which Rams Wide Receiver Should Earn The Sixth Spot?
Last Thursday, TST tweeted a poll question: "Who would you have take the final WR roster spot? Assume Austin, Britt, Cooper, (Bradley) Marquez, Thomas safe." Well, you voted and the results are interesting.
The Rams carried six wide receivers in 2015 (Tavon Austin, Kenny Britt, Stedman Bailey, Chris Givens, Brian Quick and Bradley Marquez). A good bit has changed since then, with Givens being traded to Baltimore and Bailey being waived in early June.
What has remained the same is that the Rams are still looking for consistency among their WR corps, and for a potential high-volume target to work the intermediate levels. A short summary of each rostered WR's career with the Rams:
Austin: bubble screens, sweeps, reverses and any other way to get him the ball...
Win, lose or draw, the RAMS will be the most badass team in the league in 2016.
I know what you are thinking. "The RAMS are ALWAYS the most badass!" And you are correct. This years team however is burning high-octane awesome sauce and cranking their badassery up to E-LEV-N.
Here are 16 reasons why every other team in the NFL just kinda sucks compared to the 2016 Los Angeles RAMS.
16 - Johnny freaking Hekker.
15 - Best looking GM/QB duo in the league. No other team packs a 1-2 punch of stonecold ladykillers like Les "McConaughey" Snead and Jared "Gosling" Goff. And as far as HCs go, I can almost smell Jeff "Ron Swanson" Fishers raw testosterone-pipe tobacco-grizzly musk all the way back here in Missouri.
14 - They are young, hungry and mean.
Under Fisher, the Rams make two things: mistakes and Seahawks fans cry like the little whining pansies they are. I expect fewer mistakes and more tears this year.
13 - Seriously, those frappuccino sippin' hipsters in the Pacific Northwest are...

Rams’ Fisher on Jared Goff: “We’re not going to rush him”
By Clark Judge
Talk of Fame Network
The Rams have a new home. They’re the Los Angeles Rams now, returning to southern California after 21 years in St. Louis. And they have a new quarterback.
Introducing former Cal quarterback Jared Goff.
The Rams thought so much of Goff they traded away multiple draft picks to acquire the first pick of the draft, and, naturally, most persons believe the rookie – not Case Keenum, Nick Foles or Sean Mannion – will be the team’s starter when the Rams open on Sept. 12. But that’s not necessarily the case, coach Jeff Fisher told the Talk of Fame Network.
“We’re going to take our time,” he said on the latest broadcast, dedicated to the Rams’ return to the West Coast. “We’re not going to rush him. He’s a quick learner. He’s got a special and arm and vision, and he’s going to...
Rams DE Robert Quinn aiming to get back to pass-rush dominance
Nick Wagoner/ESPN Staff Writer
OXNARD, Calif. -- Two short offseasons ago you couldn't take part in any conversation about the NFL's best pass-rushers without Los Angeles Rams defensive end Robert Quinn's name figuring prominently.
Quinn was coming off a franchise record-setting 19 sacks in the 2013 season. That dominance landed him first-team All-Pro honors and his first trip to the Pro Bowl. Pro Football Focus rated Quinn the No. 2 player in the league, the NFL Network placed him 13th and ESPN.com declared him the sixth-best defensive player.
Fast-forward to this offseason and Quinn appears on no such lists. In fact, he's become...
Pharoh Cooper worked with the first-team offense Friday
By: Jeff Smith
If you were a pre-draft believer in former South Carolina wide receiver Pharoh Cooper, you might be getting closer to being able to pat yourself on the back. When the Los Angeles Rams drafted Cooper in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft, it was a pick surrounded by excitement. Apparently, it hasn’t taken much time for Cooper to make his presence felt with the team either.
Via Myles Simmons of the team’s official website:
Myles Simmons @MylesASimmons
It can be. But I’ve gotta say, I’ve been really impressed with Cooper this week. He got snaps with 1s today, too.
This means it’s taken a total of just three days for Cooper to impress the coaches enough for him to earn some time with the first-team offense. While it’s somewhat...
