Rejoice friends!!! Many of us, including myself, wanted this one bad.
Will he be like Jeff Fisher and focus on players that have only been property of the Washington Redskins? Will he be like Milquetoast Linehan and just do whatever his defensive coordinator tells him to do or will he be like Steve Spagnuolo and go for one year rentals on players that best days are behind them?
Hopefully none of the above, but if the Rams start looking like Redskin West I’m going to be somewhat concerned. I don’t mind maybe one or two signings, but let’s hope unlike under past regimes the Wunderkind can showcase he is truly beyond his years to not focus on players that are (FOSM) Friends of Sean McVay.
This is also an area where General Manager Les Snead needs to stand up and showcase he’s improved in this area. If the Rams let Trumaine Johnson walk, they will need to sign a significant Cornerback a wide receiver and an offensive lineman and the Rams cannot afford to whiff in free agency like they did time and time again under Jeff Fisher Kenny Britt & Williams...

I don't know who this McVay guy is, he keeps talking about,

Any predictions on who makes it?

To keep all things Rams FA-related organized, I figure we have an official thread. It'll be fun to come back and see the progressions in our FA planning... Here's our first tidbit (albeit a few days old):
Let the fun begin!!!
I'm sure Gurley shares some of the blame, as there were times he seemed to make bad running decisions. That being said, it's laughable for any former coaches to call him out when their coaching was unbelievably bad. Do they not remember the first game of the season where the pre-snap motion blatantly telegraphed where the plays were going?
It's purely conjecture on my part, by I'm betting this is coming from either Fisher or Boras to cover for their own incompetence.
Report: Former Rams coaches blame Gurley for his 2016 struggles
Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley took a massive step back from his outstanding rookie campaign this past season,...
Despise the man all you want(and yes there will always be an asterisk by his name due to cheating), but the man knows how to coach a winning team. Here he speaks about how he got his defense to improve.
Since Kroenke and Snead have made mention of how they wanted to follow the Patriots plan for success, McVay and Phillips might want to heed his advice.
It's not enough to have talented players on defense. They also have to be mentally able to carry out the game plan. They then have to be coached to play cohesively together.

Rams to launch “wide-ranging” search on Friday
Posted by Mike Florio on December 15, 2016, 8:34 PM EST
The Rams have had a busy week, far too busy to commence the process of looking for a new head coach. After Thursday night’s game against the Seahawks, however, the effort to find a replacement for Jeff Fisher will begin.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Rams will embark on a “wide-ranging” coaching search on Friday. The team will lean toward a coach with an offensive background, but the Rams haven’t ruled out the possibility of hiring a defensive coach.
Those parameters necessarily will land Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels (who served as the offensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams in 2011) and Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan on the list of potential candidates.
Getting the job surely will entail...
