Redskins vs Rams Prediction Thread: Possible Gauntlet March?
Sunday, the Redskins head to Los Angeles to take on a Rams team that obliterated the Colts in week 1.
Let's face it; we all expected to see a crisp, sharp, attentive group of players on the field this past weekend, polished, on the edge of being in mid-season form.
That didn't quite happen.
Luckily for me, I was doing repairs on my garage roof thanks to hurricane Harvey and didn't get to see the actual game, but I managed to catch some highlights against an Eagles team that was kinda in the same boat as we are. Both teams, at times, looked good, but only for a bit, then the miscues, stupid penalties, and flat out unenthusiastic efforts put out on the field.
The Redskins briefly led the game, but it seemed the Eagles were more hungry for the W than the Redskins were, and after the whatever...
Its Game Day!
The regular season is finally upon us, as the Rams will host the Colts at the Coliseum on Sunday afternoon. When the two teams last met in 2013, the Rams executed well in all three phases to down Indianapolis, 38-8.
This week head coach Sean McVay is looking for his team to do this same, beginning his tenure in Los Angeles with a successful home opener.
“It certainly has a different feeling this week. I know I’m excited about it [and] I...

Practice Report: Rams Prepare for Preseason Finale
The Rams began preparations for their preseason finale with a competitive, non-padded session on Monday afternoon. With the team’s fourth exhibition matchup against the Packers just a few days away and roster cuts looming on Saturday, this week will be the last chance for many players to crack the 53-man roster.
Wide receiver Tavon Austin made his return to the practice field on Monday. After being sidelined for most of the Rams’ offseason workouts with a wrist injury, the fifth-year receiver has been sidelined for the majority of the preseason due to a nagging hamstring issue.
While Austin will still sit out Thursday night, he is expected to practice with the team over the next couple of weeks and should be ready for the regular season opener on Sept. 10.
After practice on Monday, head coach Sean McVay said Austin participated in the majority of the team’s individual drills and has...
Video: What to Watch: Rams vs. Chargers
The Rams will take the field at the Coliseum for the last time this preseason when they face off against the Chargers on Saturday. This game marks the first contest between two Los Angeles teams since Nov. 13, 1994. And while it is just preseason, the third exhibition...
Hadn't seen a thread started yet (MOD's, move this if you want). I'm going and can't wait to see the "Battle For LA"
After watching the Chargers' horrid play against the Saints in a half full StubHub, Gawd they look awful. I'm pretty confident the Rams are winning that battle.
Third pre-season game, how much more will 1st team play? Will Quinn and Barron play? Will Watkins have the play book down?
It's Game Day!
Game Preview: Rams, Raiders Gear Up for Week 2 of Preseason
The Rams are set to play their first road game of the 2017 season on Saturday following the team’s 13-10 win over the Cowboys in the preseason opener. In Week 2 of the preseason, the Rams will travel to the Oakland Coliseum to face off against the Raiders. Saturday’s matchup will mark the first time the two teams have met in the preseason since...
Game Preview: Rams Take on Cowboys in Preseason Opener
The NFL preseason has officially arrived. The Rams will be back at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Saturday to take on the Cowboys in their preseason opener for the second straight year.
Following the first two weeks of training camp at the team’s summer home of UC Irvine, the Rams will begin a preseason slate of games that also includes two AFC West opponents in the Raiders and Chargers, as well as a matchup with the...
_"2017 Rams Offensive Personnel"
With only days to go until the Rams officially report to their 2017 training camp, I'm releasing this years
"all in one stop" offensive personnel presentation. (A total of 42 players counting 3 on special teams)
Everyone knows the current roster is subject to change in the coming days and weeks leading up to the 2017 season opener. I have listed all of the the current "offensive players" currently on the 90 man roster.
For what ever the miscellaneous reasons were over the past 5 seasons, the Rams offensive rankings under the previous coaching regime were rather "elementary" and the product on the field rarely looked like it belonged in today's NFL.
In the previous five seasons the Rams rankings in "total yards" per game was 22nd in 2012, 30th in 2013, 27th in 2014, 32nd in 2015 and 32nd in 2016....
If you plan to attend training camp, we have created an event for coordination of members who would like to potentially meet others.
I know, it's the offseason and we get lots of silly threads. I wasn't sure where to put this post - as most of the threads are related to offense.
That being said, I know that in the past years under Fisher we ran a bend but don't break defense. A defense that often leads to your D being left on the field for longer periods, but is hoping for opportune takeaways as a result.
To my knowledge Wade Phillips doesn't have this bend but don't break philosophy. How do you think that will affect our D? How about our O with more potential possessions? Tavon getting more PR opportunities?
I see our D as being able to hold up through a game a bit better. If we aren't getting dragged on these 80 yard drives only to hold them to a field goal. I'd have to think our players will have more energy.
Anyway, what do you all think?
The more I pondered this question, the more names kept popping up, tbh.
Jared Goff. An obvious choice. Maybe THE choice.
Todd Gurley. Surely a top candidate,
Robert Woods. The Buffalo O was smothering him, imo. Might thrive in this McVay O environment. I sure think he will.
Tyler Higbee. Another guy that stands to benefit tremendously from McVay's TE oriented O since Kendricks is no longer around. Could jump from obscurity to a star this year.
Nelson Spruce. How to top UDFA with one preseason game appearance to possible starting contributor?
Connor Barwin. This could resurrect his career under Wade once again. How's that for dramatic benefit?
Robert Quinn. New DC, new position. New health? Could be an explosive year for Quinn. If healthy, look out!
Kayvon Webster. Finally an opportunity to start. That's some serious benefit, huh?
Nickell Robey-Coleman. Same as Webster. Finally an opportunity to start.
Lamarcus Joyner. Some have said that this might allow...
PFT preseason power rankings No. 32: New York Jets
Posted by Mike Florio on July 9, 2017
With training camps still a couple of weeks away and (fortunately) not many arrests or other misdeeds to fill the slow time, there’s a void that needs to be filled. So we’ll fill it with a look at each of the NFL’s franchises, ranked bottom to top based on where they’re currently perceived to be in relation to their 31 competitors at this stage of the season.
Feel free to complain in the comment about whether a team is ranked too high or too low. The first team could be ranked no lower; we start with the bottom of the barrel and dig upward.
Someone has to be last at the start of the season, and the Jets seem to be determined to be last at the end of...
Rams surely want to “pay the man”; the challenge is coming up with the right number
Posted by Mike Florio on July 7, 2017, 2:29 PM EDT
It’s easy for people like Rams defensive lineman Michael Brockers to tell his team to “pay the man” in reference to defensive tackle Aaron Donald. It’s much harder to determine the right dollars and structure of the deal.
The problem arises in large part from the fact that the Donald has two years left on his rookie deal. Which means that the Rams would be assuming the injury risk from Donald for the next 32 regular-season games, plus any postseason games the Rams may play (stop laughing).
It’s one thing for a team to assume the injury risk for a quarterback or a receiver or a cornerback. Linemen are constantly stuck in a scrum of bodies that may or may not result in a...
Sean McVay on Jared Goff, Plans For The Rams & More
LA Rams’ Head Coach Sean McVay joins the Rich Eisen Show to talk about Jared Goff, Plans For The Rams and Much More.

Ok, I scrolled through 4 pages of archives and did not see this notice,so here it is. Amazon Prime will start a series on last years LA Ram season on June 30th. It looks like a darker next part of the story after Hard Knocks, that goes through a last team meeting by Jeff Fisher telling the team that he was fired. They showed footage of McVay, although I don't know how much there is of that, or whether it's worth signing up for Amazon Prime to see this series.
I was for firing Fisher when it happened, but seeing the aftermath kind of hits you where you live. Seeing Fish humbled like that made me feel for him.

Rams DE Robert Quinn had his right hand bandaged today and did not participate in practice. Sean McVay said he had "a minor procedure" and that he should be ready to go for the start of training camp. LB Mark Barron, RB Lance Dunbar, WR Tavon Austin and CB EJ Gaines also did not practice. SS Maurice Alexander (hip) did, but not in 11-on-11 drills.
