What are some of your favorite apps?

I am on Android, but many of these can be found on iphone or BB...

Weather Apps
Rainy Days - Definitely a must have app. One click and you have a live in-motion radar image at your location.

Aix Weather - this is a cool widget for your desktop shows temp and precipitation forecast in graph form for the next 12 hours.

Photo
Photo Editor and Pics Art. I use both of them based on what I'm trying to accomplish. They have good editing tools and filters. Can do some neat things with your photos on device with these two apps.

Video Editor - This might be a Samsung exclusive, I think. Anyway, it's awesome. You can modify your videos right on the device.

Music
Rdio - this is a subscription service similar to other apps. They have a beefy inventory of music you can sync to your mobile and manage from your mobile or desktop. This is my app of choice for music since I live in Canada. You might find equally good options in the USA.

Shazam - if you hear a song but don't know it's name... hold your phone to the music and let Shazam find the title and artist in seconds.

Social
Tapa Talk - a MUST HAVE app for ROD members. Stay connected to the site when you are out and about.

Kik - a cross platform chat app similar to Blackberry's BBM and Iphone ichat. Except... Kik works on Android, BlackBerry, and Iphone. So... no matter what device you have you can chat with each other.

Voxer - Turn your phone into a walkie talkie. Its fun to use... but most of my friends prefer text based conversation so I don't get to use it as often as I'd like.

Sports
The Score (formerly ScoreMobile) - It's got news and other features, but I like using it to track scores live and to see league standings.

Fun
If you want a laugh with friends... try;

Epic Movie - Shoot a video of someone and apply special effects. It's hilarious.

Face Swap Lite - Take a photo of two people and let the program swap their faces. It's hilarious too.

Zedge - A massive amount of free ringtones.

News
All the major News Networks have their apps... I like USA Today and NBC News apps the best.

Utilities
Bunny's Period Tracker - yeah, I know, I'm a pig. But this little app has a widget so you always know when your wife's period is coming. Allows you to prepare!

IMDb - Internet movie database. Get reviews and trailers for any movie you are considering to purchase on Pay Per View before you buy.

Startup Manager - Control what apps start running when you power on your phone.

ScanLife - free scanner for QR codes.

Americas Economy - A nice app for getting the latest statistics on key performance measures of the US economy.

For Sports App: I love the Sports Tracker app on th android. I do a lot of running, jogging, and hiking so this app is very useful for me. It tracks my distance, calories burnt, time, fastest speed, slowest speed, average speed, GPS, etc. Great for people who hike or jog through the forest parks. Also the app does not drain the battery :)

I use Yahoo Sportacular. You can put little widgets of your fav teams' games showing live scores. I have my own little mini scoreboard.

The Rams' offical app.

Tiny flashlight...uses my bright AF camera flash and use it as a flashlight. Real convienent; now that I think about it I use it alot.

Marvel comics...just a comic reader. Speaking of Marvel, I have Marvel World of Heros. Addicting card game.

Google sky maps...can see all the constellations and ID planets and whatnot.

Flipboard...designed for cell phones. It's really sharp and gives news, social updates, sports, games, food, etc all in one place. And you can customize it to fit your interests.

TeslaLED - a flashlight app I use constantly.

Tunelink - It's an app that you use with a little bluetooth transceiver that you plug into your cigarette lighter or aux power outlet that communicates with your stereo. Unlike other similar units, this one has a USB port so it doubles as a high speed charger and uses bluetooth so you don't actually have to have your phone plugged into it. I usually just have my phone in my pocket. When I get back in my car and start it up, the music resumes (most of the time).

SoundHound - I'm always wondering what a certain song is or who performs it. Couple clicks and I got it.

Google Navigation - I've even used this out in the sticks with no cell service and it was accurate to within a few feet.

All these apps are free. I had to buy the little unit to use Tunelink but it is way worth it if you don't have an auxiliary input on your stereo - or even if you do I suppose.

Bye the way, I have the Razr Maxx - what a piece of shit. I like the screen size and battery life but it is the glitchiest thing I've ever owned. Tempted to just switch back to my HTC Droid 2.

I used to have my phone Jailbroken, undid it a while ago, but I may do it again. Liked the customization, making it all look spiffy.

I have the Facebook and Twitter accounts of course. I don't tweet but I like to get information. Then my sports ones, NHL Gamecenter, and LA Kings official app for hockey, and the Rams app for Football.. I used to have a football one that gave you scores, but the Rams app does that (which I friggin love) better than the other one, so it made the other one unnecessary.

I have Shazam to identify songs I like that I don't know which is pretty cool. I have a translator that works pretty well, and a radio/scanner. I also have an app with the 2013 California Penal code. Then I have a few games, brain teaser ones and some classics. I got Sonic 1 and 2, Echo the Dolphin, and Doom. I love that you can get classic games on your phone now, I remember playing Sonic on the Sega, and it's the exact same game. Crazy how far along we've come on video games that we can play these games on phones so easily.

I'm probably going to update my phone over the summer. I have the iPhone 4, so I may go up to the 4S or 5, but I'm thinking about switching over to the Galaxy when the S4 comes out.

Give the Windows phones a look if you havent already. I have a 4s right now and as soon as Im upgrade eligible Ill likely switch to Windows. It doesnt have the app selection yet that iPhone or Android does but the interface is super clean and design centric.

One that I frequently use is the Flixster Movies app. It list movies that are opening that week as well as the top box office movies. It shows times for theaters in your area as well as ratings from critics and users. You can watch trailers as well as many other things.

For music I use Pandora. Besides occasional irritating adds, it is an excellent substitute to the radio.

They just did a operating system update that has cured some of its woes. Now it works better for most stuff but has different issues. Maybe my previous HTCs just spoiled me.
