Saw them in Phx, AZ, the last time was back in 1992 w/ Metallica (headliner), and Faith No More open so I was 12 years old, and first concert ever was Stevie Ray Vaughn.

I'm still in a dazed n confused state of mind of what I witnessed last night for 3 hours. Yes, that is correct Guns N' Roses played from 11pm to 2am exactly maybe 2:05am to be precise. I won't mention the whole original GnR to the 'new' band. I think Chinese Democracy is a work of art. This concert had me going from start to finish hearing such tracks as Estranged, Rocket Queen, Civil War, You Could Be Mine, Street of Dreams, Prostitute among another 30 more songs. I've been fortunate to take after my dad and uncle as a 'concert junkie/metalhead'- grunge, metal, classic rock, hard rock. I'm 31 so since age 10 I've probably been to at least 80 concerts after each one just saying to myself wow that was incredible (Tool- '93 and '01), (Robin Trower '08 and '11), I could go on and on.

Anyways I have to make a confession to say this was by far one of the greatest live shows I have ever been a part of, I cheated and recorded a ton of songs in entirety w/ a jimmy-rigged holder for my iphone without flash. Here's a few pics I was able to get as well again no flash used I do respect the other fans around me. Axl still has a killer voice and hit most of the high notes spot on, the guitarists- Ashba, "Bumblefoot' and rest of the band were badass.

I missed my chance to see them in Minneapolis a couple months ago, and I've been kicking myself because of it. I heard a short while after that they were in fact doing 3 hour sets and would have given my left arm to see it.

Really excited to see what happens at the Hall of Fame ceremony in a few months. I was surprised to see that Duff appeared onstage with The Guns in Toronto last month. Might there be a reunion in the works? The world could only be so lucky.

I'm going to try to load up a few songs in entirety thru youtube, but this would be my first ever upload, thanks to an upgrade to iphone I never had much to load to youtube.

Give me a few. I guarantee the video and audio quality is pretty impressive being 30 rows back plus the pit area.

Not really a GnR fan but glad you enjoyed the show.

As to greatest of all time?

Too bad you are too young to have seen Pink Floyd during the Animals tour.

Or Led Zep live.

They were epic before epic had real meaning.

I will be 53 Sunday and most times can't remember where my keys are but I remember those shows like I just got to the parking lot......

Speaking of long sets.....

I took my then 16 YO son to Metallica with Korn opening on New Years 2000. Korn did a great set lasting about a hour and a half. About 10, Metallica began and played till about a quarter of midnight. The entire venue (Shark Tank in San Jose Calif.) went dark and people actually started to leave. About 2 minutes to midnight the house lights came up and the guys cam out with magnums of champagne and Hammett played Auld Lang Syne and we all sang and kissed and the guys shot champagne all over the pit. Then the lights went down again and folks started leaving again. I couldn't imagine why.

About 10 minutes later Lars walks out and snaps on a single bare bulb hanging down just above his drum kit. James and the rest followed suit one by one and then they proceeded to play til almost 2am.

It was pretty amazing as they had played a lot of the post-black album garbage before midnight but it was ALL old school after the break. Fade to Black, 4 Horsemen, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Seek & Destroy, Puppets, Battery.......ALL the classics.

One of my top 10 shows of all time.

RamsFan4Life I virtually envy you on Floyd esp on the Animals tour and the almighty ZeppelinI can't put the thoughts into words of what I would give to go back and grow up in my teen's when those bands were around.

I'll take what I can get these days as I do let at least 3 shows/year slip by because I simply can't make it to all.

Prior to G N' R, the longest sets I've seen was MetallicA-2004 (Godsmack opened)... this lasted around 2 hrs 25 mins and I didn't expect it. They ran thru just about everything (5-6 tracks from Kill Em All, Ride...And Justice..Black...Load/Reload/ and only 3 from St. Anger which sounded great live and I quote from Hetfield... "Good fuckin evening Phoenix, we came here to say hello and play the fuck out of this arena for the next few hours." Literally they did w/ very few breaks. The set list was in such an array it could not have been selected any better. And 'Down' played w/ no opening band but a one-hour video display of a lot of classic rock live footage as a tribute and then came on stage for 2hrs 10 mins, also covering about 90% of their material including Over the Under album.

Awesome. What a great show. I have this cover and the Beatles back to back on my iPod, can never get enough. Thanks for sharing.

Can't imagine how great that sounded live.
