Just got the memo that the days of the wild west are over. Noted!

I've always said that I would have fit in perfectly in the Wild West.

Except for the lack of showers, other than that it'd be perfect for me :ROFLMAO:

Was it the Syphilis, dental hygiene or dollar whores with Syphilis that let you know the Wild West and you were a match?

What a send-off: China's funeral strippers told to cover up
Euan McKirdy and Shen Lu, CNN

(CNN)If you were mourning the loss of a loved one in China, at least the entertainment might have cheered you up. Until now.

In rural China, hiring exotic dancers to perform at wakes is an increasingly common practice, but is now the latest focus of the country's crackdown on vice.

Strippers are invited to perform at funerals, often at great expense, to attract more mourners, China's official Xinhua news agency said.

Another report suggested another motivation: that the performances "add to the fun."

Photos obtained by CNN from an attendee at a village funeral in Cheng'an County in Hebei Province show mourners of all ages, including children, watching the performance.

The attendee, who asked not to be identified, said he was visiting family during the Lunar New Year holiday. While he was there, one of the elderly villagers died so he went to the funeral.

"I felt something wasn't right," he told CNN. "The performance crossed the line. I had heard about hiring strippers to dance at funerals but had never seen it myself. I was shocked when I saw the strippers."

He said the villagers said this kind of performance had been practiced for a while.

"They didn't find it shocking or strange. They were used to it.

"They told me, 'what if we can't watch (this kind of) performance after it gets exposed by the media?'"

Strippers investigated

In some areas of China, the hiring of professional mourners, known as "kusangren" is commonplace. These can include performances, although in recent times the dance acts have increasingly tended towards the erotic.

China's Ministry of Culture issued a statement Thursday announcing a crackdown on these funeral stripteases.

It said that the ministry had investigated two separate incidents, one in Handan City, Hebei Province, and the other in Suqian City, Jiangsu Province. Both involved multiple-participant "burlesque" and "striptease" shows as mourners looked on.

"Uncivilized acts"

The Ministry's report said that stripteases undermined "the cultural value of the entertainment business," and asserted that "such acts were uncivilized."

The practice has been going on for some time, the report said. Exotic dancing and other forms of pornography are illegal in China. The dancers in the two cases were held in "administrative detention" following the two investigations, the report added.

The Ministry of Culture did not respond to CNN requests for comment.

Last year, the Chinese Ministry of Public Security ordered police across China to step up efforts to tackle the "three vices" -- prostitution, gambling and drug trafficking -- warning officials they would be held accountable for illegal activities.

In February 2014, a massive crackdown on prostitution in the southern manufacturing city of Dongguan, dubbed "Sin City" for its huge vice industry, raided 2,000 establishments and detained more than 900 people.

Woman Fired Before First Day of Job For Facebook Post About Hating Job
Anna Merlan

1228793837937891985.jpg

A single mother in a Texas suburb who’d just landed a job at a daycare was fired before her first day—for posting on Facebook about how much she hates working in childcare. Her brand-new employers heard about the posting and told her not to bother coming in. This is the part where we remind all of you to triple-check your privacy settings.

Kaitlyn Walls, a 27-year-old mom who lives in The Colony, a suburb north of Dallas, told CBS-DFW that she was fired the day her new job was supposed to start, over a post that read, “I start my new job today, but I absolutely hate working at day care.” She followed that up with, “Lol, it’s all good, I just really hate being around a lot of kids.”

According to posts on Walls’ page—again, Kaitlyn, please make those private ASAP—the drama seems to have started on her own page, then spread widely via a yard sale group on Facebook. The group has more than 8,000 members and, in the way of small towns, looks to be a bazaar for gossip and shit-starting as much as it is a place to sell old lawnmowers. Walls told CBS that she was immediately flooded with insults, mostly other women calling her a “dumb bitch” or accusing her of having “bubonic plague,” for some reason.

“Oh man I made a big mistake,” Walls wrote on Facebook yesterday. “I’m so sad. I feel like a failure here looking at my daughter crying because I’m afraid that I’m not going to be able to find a job because of my own stupidity.”

That’s one interpretation. The other is that a bunch of suburban busybodies with literally nothing else to do hounded a woman out of a job she needed. Walls told CBS she doesn’t actually hate children. “I was just venting.”

Chinese man who collapsed after 14-day web binge begs paramedics to turn on his computer

A Chinese man who reportedly collapsed after a 14-day internet gaming marathon asked paramedics who arrived to treat him to "turn on the computer" so he could continue surfing the web.

In the latest example of the country's troubling obsession with the virtual world, the 21-year-old named only as Mr Xia collapsed onto the pavement outside an internet café in Hefei, the capital of Anhui province, according to a report in the Anhui Business Review.

When paramedics arrived to take the goggle-eyed man to hospital he reportedly told them: "Leave me alone and turn on the computer for me. I want to surf the internet."

Ms Wang, a cleaning lady at the café, said she had seen the young man stagger out of the building following a two-week online binge during which he had chain-smoked, repeatedly dodged showers and eaten almost nothing.

"[At] 7am on May 3, he told me he was feeling a little dizzy and hadn't eaten for a day and that he would go out to get some food," she told the website.

"He couldn't stand up on his own so I helped him. He was quite smelly by then."

At 7.30am Mr Xia collapsed into a heap on the ground outside.

China now has 649 million internet users, according to government figures, but also an estimated 24 million internet addicts, many of them teens.

Earlier this year a teenager from Jiangsu province was reported to have chopped off his hand in an attempt to cure his addiction.

Tao Ran, who runs a famous Beijing "boot camp" for internet obsessed teens, said such tactics would not work. "I fear he will become addicted again."

Mr Xia, the Anhui internet addict, told reporters he had run away from home after becoming hooked on online role-playing games including World of Warcraft.

"I found confidence in this virtual world," he said.

There's a lesson here for sure. I deleted my facebook page when I went back on the market to find a job. More and more employers are scouring the web for your name nowadays just to get a glimpse into your personal life. It's a shame that you can't let your hair down anymore because of that, but that's the world we live in now.

At the prison I volunteer at there are inmates I interact with, both past and present, some of whom are well known and even infamous. If I were to post their names and my conversations with them on social media I would not only be kicked out but there would be a possibility of being sued. So yeah, it's wise to be careful what we post. The woman in the above article learned that lesson the hard way.

Police: Off-Duty Officer Bit Man's Groin During Fight
BALTIMORE — May 7, 2015

A Maryland police officer has been suspended after being accused of biting another man's testicles during a fight outside a bar while he was off-duty on Cinco de Mayo.

Anne Arundel County police say 31-year-old Cpl. Michael Flaig was arrested Tuesday in Baltimore. Police in the city say the victim accused Flaig, who was off-duty, of groping his female roommate. Flaig is charged with second-degree assault and public intoxication.

Police told local news outlets that during the fight, the victim straddled Flaig to keep him from getting away and Flaig bit his testicles.

County police spokesman T.J. Smith says Flaig's police powers have been suspended and he has been placed on paid administrative duties. Flaig didn't have an attorney listed in online court records.

There is a flip side to that - my Facebook page is a tool to advertise to the public and not to place where I would ever go to share any of my thoughts. FB for me is a reference point for people to check and see what I am "about" professionally

There are no pix of my kids or social commentary - just images curated to further my public persona

I employ about 28 people with my company and we just hired three new employees and the first thing we did was reference their FB pages - it's a great window into what you're getting as an employee.

One person got hired specifically because of how they interacted socially - the job is super analytical and we noticed while others comments on a social issue were all humorous, the person we hired responded with facts and with exactly the sort of analytical approach we were looking for.

So it works both ways.

X, my recommendations would be to reboot your FB page with images of you saving a puppy from a raging river, or helping an old lady across the road -- it is what it is, and you can easily make it work in your favor as long as you treat it for what it is

The researchers who thought this up are the dumbasses of the day.
******************************************************
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencet...ntists-claim-time-bedroom-make-miserable.html

Having more sex DOESN'T make you happier: Scientists claim too much time in the bedroom can make you miserable

You might think having more sex will make you happier, but a new study argues it could do the opposite.

Researchers in the US have found that frequent sex can often lack spontaneity, romance and desire.

They argue that sex is more about quality than quantity, and having sex too often can make some couples tired of it altogether.

Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University say earlier links found between sex and happiness aren't as straightforward as they seem.

Being happy in the first place, for example, might lead someone to have more sex, or being healthy might result in being both happier and having more sex.

As part of the study, researchers experimentally assigned some couples to have more sex.

They report that simply having more sex did not make couples happier, in part because the increased frequency led to a decline in wanting for and enjoyment of sex.

One hundred and twenty eight healthy individuals between the ages of 35-65 who were in married male-female couples participated in the research.

The researchers randomly assigned the couples to one of two groups.

The first group received no instructions on sexual frequency. The second group was asked to double their weekly sexual intercourse frequency.

Daily during the experimental period, the participants answered questions online to measure health behaviours, happiness levels and the occurrence, type and enjoyableness of sex.

The couples instructed to increase sexual frequency did have more sex. However, this led to a small decrease in happiness.

Looking further, the researchers found that couples instructed to have more sex reported lower sexual desire and a decrease in sexual enjoyment.

It wasn't that actually having more sex led to decreased wanting and liking for sex. Instead, it seemed to be just the fact that they were asked to do it, rather than initiating on their own.

'Perhaps couples changed the story they told themselves about why they were having sex, from an activity voluntarily engaged in to one that was part of a research study,' said George Loewenstein, the study's lead investigator.

'If we ran the study again, and could afford to do it, we would try to encourage subjects into initiating more sex in ways that put them in a sexy frame of mind, perhaps with baby-sitting, hotel rooms or Egyptian sheets, rather than directing them to do so.'

Despite the study's results, Loewenstein continues to believe that most couples have too little sex for their own good, and thinks that increasing sexual frequency in the right ways can be beneficial.

One of the study's designers, Tamar Krishnamurti, suggested that the study's findings may actually help couples to improve their sex lives and their happiness.

'The desire to have sex decreases much more quickly than the enjoyment of sex once it's been initiated,' said Krishnamurti, a research scientist in CMU's Department of Engineering and Public Policy.

'Instead of focusing on increasing sexual frequency to the levels they experienced at the beginning of a relationship, couples may want to work on creating an environment that sparks their desire and makes the sex that they do have even more fun.'

My two candidates for today are:

1) a man who hid a bag of heroin under his foreskin and who was spotted by cops when he was "acting suspiciously."

http://www.scmp.com/news/china/soci...nese-man-smuggles-heroin-his-foreskin-divorce

Train passenger hid heroin in foreskin

BEIJING - Railway police revealed on Thursday they captured a man who hid a bag of heroin under his foreskin on a train from the capital to Lhasa in Tibet, The Mirror reports.

The police found the man acting suspiciously during a routine patrol on the train and asked him to take a urine test, which yielded a positive result for morphine. But the police did not find any drugs in his clothes or baggage.

The man later confessed to having illegal drugs on him and took out a plastic bag from under his foreskin.

The police found a tenth of a gram of heroin in the bag, according to the report.

2) The Waffle House masturbator.

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/documents/revolting/waffle-house-masturbator-890654

A Waffle House employee who was videotaped by a fellow worker masturbating inside the open Georgia restaurant is being sought by police on an
arrest warrant charging him with public indecency, cops report.

Emanuel Williams, 36, is wanted in connection with the incident Monday afternoon in the dining room of a Waffle House in Macon, according to police.

As detailed in a second police report, Williams and a female coworker were the only employees in the eatery Monday when Williams announced that he was preparing to pleasure himself. The woman, who said she was on the phone at the time, told deputies that she did not take Williams seriously.

Upon finishing her call, the woman “walked over to the suspect to see if he really was jacking his penis, and he was,” an investigator reported. The woman said that she began recording Williams with her phone because she “knew no one would believe her” when she later recounted the incident.

“She stated that as she was recording him, she was telling him the whole time that she was recording him and that he was a pervert,” a deputy noted. “She stated that he responded by saying he wasn't a pervert he was just a freak."

I have a facebook account and a few family and friends. But I've never once started a post on the wall. I've occasionally responded to someone else's, but nothing about my personal life. I use it as a tool to see what's happening in my family's life.
