• Guy and gal, in the workplace, flirting and talking. Working odd hours. Traveling together. Eating together. Changing rooms. What could go wrong, right?
• Guy gets bold. Sends out trial balloon signals. Cool. She didn’t balk. Steps a little closer to the line.
• Gal likes the attention. Feeds the beast. Dresses nice smells nice. He thinks he’s got the green light!
• He sends pics. She sends pics. (I just don’t get this new trend. So glad to be 52 and married). Maybe something happens.
• Things go sour. He’s famous. Wife or girlfriend is on to him. He gets cold feet. Pulls out of the situation.
• Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Did he send pics? Yes. Was he stupid? Yes. Was it always unwelcome? Was it? Not always clear who the victim is. Sometimes there is no innocent player. Just vengeance played out on a public stage.

There is no way to fully insulate yourself from harassers. Just like there is no way to fully insulate yourself from these women predators. But you can control your own behavior and reduce the risks.

I may have misunderstood the post.. my bad. I thought it referred to just the victims... I think the reference was to this whole elevation of sexual assault. Regardless, the victims are ruined if it happened. They have to live with the images of the whole thing for the rest of their lives. And that's not being "tragically weak"... that's being human.

From everything that has made it out so far, it sounds like Faulk has the best chance of making it out the other side of this with a job. If he has a good lawyer giving him advice, he has already been told deny. deny. deny. He's one of the few that didn't seem to have actually sent anything via electronic device.

There's a good chance most of these men didn't save their conversations with every woman they exchanged sexually explicit messages with. Phones only have so much space and these are ex-NFLers, but if they are able to obtain BOTH sides of these conversations, there may be a different side to this story. The scary thing is that the hammer that would typically fall on a joint responsibility accuser and accused, really only has one direction to fall in this situation.

I knew a co-worker in the 70's who was 15 years older than me. He always dated women way younger than him. He would see some young woman and say, "get the rope." An odd thing to say. Years later he was arrested and convicted of child molestation and ended up in prison. Don't know the particulars of his case but I should have seen this coming ahead of time. SMH

I have two simple rules in my personal life when it comes to women: (1) I never approach a woman to speak to her. She has to come to me first and open the conversation. If the conversation makes me uncomfortable, I walk away. (2) I never allow a woman in my vehicle or in my house unless my wife is present. That eliminates any potential false charges of inappropriate behavior or temptation on my part.

If Marshall Faulk is guilty then he should pay the price. But if he's not then he should sue the crap out of her. On the one hand it's a good thing for society to begin to hold accountable the men who treat women inappropriately and send a message to the ones who are headed in that direction. On the other hand let's hope this doesn't turn out to be like the Salem witchcraft trials where lives and reputations were ruined based only on suspicion and rumors.
