Dolphins rookie wide receiver DeVante Parker underwent surgery on his footon Friday, his agent told FoxSports.com.
Parker, the 14th overall pick in the 2015 draft, will not participate in the Dolphins' minicamp after having a screw placed in his foot during surgery but is considered on track for the start of the regular season.
Parker began to feel soreness in his foot -- the same one he had surgery on in college -- during Thursday's organized team activities. Parker and the team agreed that surgery would be a better option for his long-term health rather than a conservative approach.
The first-round pick caught 43 passes for 855 yards and five touchdowns as a senior at Louisville last season.
