Anyone going? My sister is coming down from Virginia with friends so I couldn't pass up that experience. I've lost a little interest in racing the last couple of seasons but I'm getting fricking excited about the 500!!!!!! It's a great gap filler to get me to March Madness, then Free Agency and then the Draft.

That would be cool George but we are having to stay in St. Augustine Beach because of the hotel price gouging that goes on that week. But if it rains, we could have some time on our hands.

St Augustine is nicer than Daytona anyway. You guys will have a great time.

Excited to see the Number 3 back on the track. Well, excited and sad at the same time.

Yeah, I was at Atlanta when Harvick won in the 29. They let black balloons go before the race that day and the wind turned them into a 3 in the sky. I got a picture of it that day but I haven't been able to find it for years. :( That was a magical day and race.

Wow! That was something. I have an autographed picture of E putting his goggles and helmet on. There will never be another E....

I was driving thru down town ATL to FLA when "the accident" happened, had the race on the radio. Just changed the station knowing the outcome of the race. Wifey and I stopped in Valdosta GA for the night, and found a little college bar next county over for a drink and bite to eat. Walked into the place and it was so quiet, with every eye turned towards the TV's as they were talking about the crash and DE

It was like losing a member of the family, Honestly! I had die hard 3 fans who swore off racing on this day.

That's crazy. I was in Valdosta that day too.

My dad died one week before and I was meetings someone trying to sell some of his estate when I was told. I dismissed it until I got to my aunt's house. When they told me it was true, it was one of those incidents that you will never forget. Sort of like when Kennedy was shot. I was in Health class in elementary school. E was one of a kind for sure.

Daytona has been rained out for the day race. I hope they get it in tonight.

Long day but had a blast and saw a pretty decent race. And my driver almost pulled off the hat trick in the end.

Thought it was a great race besides the 6 hour rain delay. I'm a McMurray fan, sucks he got wreck on the last lap but still got a 14th place finish. I thought it was cool to see Earnhardt Jr get the win. Excited for Phoenix this weekend!

Yup, it was kind of the old man to paste the black tape on the bumper of the 88. It really increased hid down force and assured the win....LOL;)

Happy for Junior. Maybe he has finally gotten his dad's fire?

I wouldn't get too excited about that just yet. It was a restrictor plate track so....... And I don't think he will ever have THAT fire but he definitely has matured as a racer and may have finally found a good match in a crew chief.
