Will wait a year to draw any conclusions. People will have problems with his play calling and in game management, just like every other coach we've ever had. Approval rating is always highest before they coach their first game.

I'm not so sure about this. People will complain about individual play-calls, but after the OCs we've had over the past two years, I don't see a lot of people complaining about his play-calling as a whole.

The best thing I can say about McVay is that he doesn't seem threatened by the coaches around him. Fisher hired his friends, tended to promote from within, and avoided hiring guys who were seen as top offensive minds. Kind of felt like he was threatened by having a top offensive mind on the roster because it meant he'd have to cede control of the offense (and its philosophy) to someone else.

McVay went out and immediately hired the best DC available. He handed him the reins to the defense and seems to trust him with it. Fisher didn't seem willing to do that on offense.

My thought is I don't want to be disappointed. I'm sick of it with this team. Time to put a product on the field that is worthy of the fans attention.

Wade Phillips is the DC, but he has considerable experience as a HC. I like him being there for McVay to kind of monitor him and level out his "newness". Rams have a mix of "young and inexperienced with new innovation" with "old and proven and knowing all the tricks" to counter. Great mix of young and old.

I like that Wade Philips is impressed and hasn't felt the need even once to take him aside. With all that's happened, even thus far, that's pretty amazing.

I also believe we have hit a grand slam with McVay. I pounded the table for him and every single thing he's done has only validated what I saw and makes my projections seem that much more viable.

He basically said it when he didn't try to interview with The Rams during snow storm. He was into himself . F- Shanny. He has 9er roots !!!

Well, that''s a pretty big assumption IMHO.

I would have , but the change it to power ball. Lol -- your odds are better finding the winning ticket on the street.

The Rams are a better team than 7-9 though & have the coaching staff in place to prove it !!!

I hope you are right....

He said he was not going to have a interview with The Rams , when asked .

I'm not trying to be difficult, really not.
But do you have a link to an article or audio?

No - saw him interviewed , & he said he did not have anything scheduled with The Rams. He was being interviewed for the championship game. I knew then he wanted the Niner job. The Niners were sitting on there hands. 2 days later The Rams signed McVay.
McVay might still might have been there number one choice after it was all said & done.
It really just seemed like Shanny had no interest in being The Rams head coach ?? I don't know that for sure. That was the vibe I got. I was excited for Shanny & it was like he was giving The Rams the cold shoulder.I know he had a game ahead of him, but have seemed warmer to the thought of being The Rams head coach . Totally shocked because it was right after the snowstorm.

Oh don't you worry Psych.

McVay not only walks the walk he is almost strutting!

He's almost moonwalking backwards like Michael Jackson did.

He's walking the walk and talking the talk!

I'll put it this way;
McVay can chew gum, talk and moonwalk backwards all at the same time!

He also bought a house near where Michael Jackson used to live. Coincidence?

He hired Frazier ?? Then fired him .

--When he hired Rob Ryan , then Rob throws keys on the desk & basically says stick up you Aaaaa. Made it seem like Fisher was a total control freak.

Then never hiring a OC & waiting stupidly when good coaches were available. Would rather go hunting than taking care of business.

--- Just the freaking fact that The Rams just had mandatory OTA's for the first time in years ?? If ever since the new rules were in place ??

It's. it like there is to many practices. That has been the coaches biggest issue in new rules & not to have those extra days. McVay did give the players off a day early, but the gad excellent OTA grouping.
-- He also made trade to have team shaped & showing good player management.

Wasn't my choice when we did the thread who do you want as Rams HC. I am impressed with McVay as far as organizing a foundation that will be built to last. The way he conjured up this staff thus far shows the intelligence that is going on in the head of McVay. Obviously we don't know what the W-L record will be, but I know for sure we are going somewhere better then where we previously were.
Totally with you here.
During the coaching search he wasn't on my top 5 list, I wasn't a fan of him being a candidate.
Whether he ultimately pans out or not, I was still wrong to doubt him.
He hired an all star coaching staff, drafted the guys he wanted and has made quick decisions on personnel
All the while it appears everyone is on board.
Totally impressed by this cat, and not ashamed to admit I was dead wrong about him

Which Michael Jackson home are you talking about!? The Ranch in San Louis Obispo or the home in the Hollywood Hills!?
The ranch is more like, in Central California.

He also had a house in the Encino Hills. I was molested there.

One of those statements is false.
