Shofner2.jpg
He was a 2 x Pro Bowler, and 2 x All pro with the Rams ( then AFTER us he added 3more of each with the Giants!)

Del_Shofner3.jpg

OK! The man of the Hour! RB - Eric Dickerson: (1983-87)

My favorite fan sign ever was for this legend.

"Eric be nimble, Eric be quick. Eric runs all over Candlestick."

He was amazing to watch. The only time I ever considered rooting for another team was when she traded him away, broke my teenage heart.

Eric Dickerson one of if not the greatest running back to play the game IMO! (y)

Loved watching him run the ball. His straight-up running style in open field was like watching a Gazelle running on the open plains, just mesmerizing. o_O  6'3" 220 lbs. of pure talent! :D

I don't know if it was the particular time of my life, or that he was THE man to watch on those teams, or what it was--but Eric remains my favorite Ram to this day. I love all the GSOT players, the legendary guys like Youngblood, and many many other Rams. But Eric Dickerson is my favorite. I was crushed when they traded him. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Who did the Rams get?

Greg Bell, RB Owen Gill, RB Buffalo No. 1 – 1988 (Gaston Green, RB, 14th overall) Indianapolis No. 1 – 1988 (Aaron Cox, WR, 20th overall) Indianapolis No. 2 – 1988 (Fred Strickland, LB, 47th overall) Buffalo No. 1 – 1989 (Cleveland Gary, RB, 26th overall) Indianapolis No. 2 – 1989 (Frank Stams, LB, 45th overall) Buffalo No. 2 – 1989 (Darryl Henley, DB, 53rd overall)

That could've been our Hershel Walker trade but man did we squander those picks.

Keeping Dickerson would've been a good way to play that hand as well...

Here’s a few more of Harold Jackson WR 1968 & 1973-77.

His best years were with the Eagles but he strung together 5 solid years with the RAMS in the 70’s. Good player!

As I said, these stats are in addition to the stats listed above^!

* WR/DB/Kicker - Del Shofner - 1957-1960

Eric10.jpg

He was a 1st Round Draft pick #2 overall ( Don't ask me who #1 was IDK!) He went into the Hall of Fame in 1999( OUR SB WINNING YEAR!) And in his 5 Seasons and 65 games His longest Rush was for 85 Yds. and his Longest Rec. was for37 Yds. he did have 51 Fumbles! But what-the-heck!

You won’t be seeing any current Rams over the next couple days. A couple retired numbers to follow.

As we continue through Rams Murderers Row of Running Backs, I present to you one of the smoothest runners in NFL history.

Though #29 belonged to one of my first Rams hero’s- Harold Jackson, the number has been retired because of the record breaking career of Eric Dickerson.

Watching him switch hands in the middle of his cut back to avoid a strip, awesome!
