Great 3rd round pick....decent player.....and....AND....PFF is full of crap most times....and is here.

Last game of season....against CB's that press all game....good corners too...and that's what he does....vs....PRESS Coverage....
Sure he's a rookie....first playoff game....whatever

13 targets...8 catches....69 yards....what's that???? 8 ypc? That's pitiful production...in the biggest game of the year...I'll always remember those 2 yarders in the 4th quarter too.

So....lots of room to grow..to improve....

And....you can call me people...a person.... a mfer.....whatever...just call it as we see it...dude isn't a #1 or #2....he's a decent player....coming off a good rookie season.

He’s certainly no Brian Quick but he’s doing alright so far if you ask me.

You're trying way too hard Champ. There's a term for that. It's called "try-hard."

Couldn't find a better slot reciever for this offense. Mcvay and kupp will have alot of success together , you know that they wanted this guy the whole time and he fell into their hands

A group of players who play mostly in the slot where it's easier to beat press coverage. No surprise there.

And perhaps, unlike the others, Kupp has the added benefit of playing mostly against team's #3 CBs or safeties with Watkins and Woods out there.

Great find for the Rams, though.

He wasn't just lining up in the slot. Week one observation here.

........Kupp led the offense in receiving, recording four catches for 76 yards. The receiver also lined up all over the field, taking 26 snaps on the inside at the slot position and 16 on the outside according to Pro Football Focus. Although his performance was not perfect — as Kupp said himself — it was still an impressive debut for the FCS record setter.........

I was told that Kupp wouldn't be able to beat press coverage in the NFL.

I’ll come clean & say I said that early. You set me straight. Went back & saw more of the Senior Bowl.

I really liked Zay Jones , but Copper Kupp was
A close 2nd IMO . Then on the other team there was a guy Josh Reynolds who I really liked & was like 2 B ?

I knew The Rams had to draft a TE . There were a few RB’s I really liked.Les Snead said
There was no way The Rams we’re drafting a RB.He said there is only one ball.

When Zay Jones was on the board , I did want him. Then the trade back happened. (Wow) the Bills used The Rams 37 pick on him.
I really wanted Engram.

Then The Rams took Everett who a solid pick & need. I thought about Copper Kupp & was like jrry32 was disappointed.

When The Rams drafted Copper Kupp I was totally stoked !! Then with John Johnson I was
ok , the scouts must have saw something?
Johnson said he knew Wade from his teammate in Denver.

When Josh Reynolds was on the board I really
Wanted him. I think The Rams even traded back again & drafted Reynolds .

—- you called Copper Kupp !! How The Rams got both those guys was real nice !! Surprised about another Buffalo trade with Watkins.
Even Tavon & I think Ogletree were trade partners ?
I’m still upset The Rams didn’t trade back for the Bills 2 plus 1st rd picks when they wanted Watkins. The Rams would have had 2 years in a row with 2 first rd picks again.

The gift that kept giving. I would have made that pick last forever, instead of Jeff Fishers classless move by bringing all those player out as team captains.

The Rams have lost 2 times straight to the Skins after that.

I never said that he was just lining up in the slot.
I merely pointed out that he and the others spent most of their time there.

I know I keep repeating this;
but I cannot recall a player coming out that had to pro bowlers exclaiming how good he would be.

It's almost like pro bowlers know what they're talking about.

Torry Holt is wondering why you don’t call anymore.

It is fact the young receivers are inconsistent. So unsurprisingly, he dropped a couple of key passes. I don't count the one at the end of the Seahawk game. It was a rocket that lead him to far and was high. It was amazing he even got his fingertips on it. There isn't one receiver I have ever seen that given that location relative to his body and reach could have caught that ball. He made way more amazing catches than key drops and in key moments. The most important thing was he became a goto guy out of the gate and led the team in catches.
Champ, you cherry pick to make your arguments. The playoff game only one receiver came thru consistently, woods. The most experienced of the bunch. The rest of them seemed not to handle the physicality allowed in the playoffs. Lessons learned. For a rookie receiver he was way more than we could have hoped.

and don't act like he didn't benefit from teams putting more emphasis on Sammy and woods..... He was good but it was because we had a true #1 receiver in Sammy.... We need sammy

Kupp was exactly what the rams needed. Exactly. Imagine how good he will be in his second season.
