It's not that he couldn't punt on the 4th down, we decided to take a safety and not risk the punt block which could've lost the game for us. We take the safety, run off extra time and give them 2 pts, and kick off safely which would require them to hit a hail mary to win. Solid tactics by McVay.

He could punt we just opted to take the safety to run time off the clock then messed up the kick after the safety.

Our ST coaching thus far has been brutal. The coverage garbage. The blocking not great. Then he directs Dixon to bang one to the sidelines. Just hang one up 40 yards away, let your coverage do their thing, and force a fair catch.

That's the thing dumb isn't really an excuse once you win a Superbowl. It becomes hunger concentration and the desire to do it all over again. Dumb things are mostly left to the lower echelon perennial loser organizations. That's what bothers me. The injury curse is definitely real so I understand where that could become an issue to include dumb things happening but for the most part you have to really play like you haven't won shit and that's rough on the psyche it would seem since what like 2004 or whatever. Had this been the niners today we be 0-2 and would probably have had another blowout. No way to really know that but my point is you know that team will be out for blood as will Arizona but also be hungry to take what we have.

Right I hear you dude and usually we agree but with Tampa that desire hunger and drive were there. I'm not saying it isn't here but definitely not completely. There's stuff to clean up a lot of stuff and definitely need to bring in a hired gun or two. We were "dumb" against buffalo the ran over us we were "dumb" today and luckily it's bad to meh team so we can overcome. It will need to stop with this schedule there won't be many Atlantas. Not to mention everyone's best shot there won't be room for to much of it or it will be a long season.

guess im not seeing the difference much between the game today and Tampa... both were 28-3 leads that we barely won.

We had 5 fumbles in the tampa bay game.. including a fumble by kupp which looked almost identical to the fumble today.

Who knows... they may have some kind of super bowl hangover - but just pointing out we had games like today not that far back.

The difference is we were going for the championship we were starving AD and company.
Now we have one so we need to make sure that fire burns even stronger and typically that's harder for the human psyche that's all. It's early yet but had this been a better team we might not be so happy and with the schedule being what it is whether you and I split hairs over "dumb" or "passion's "hunger" whatever I think we both can agree no matter the words it has to improve or we in trouble. I think we can both agree on that lol.

taking the safety was the right move. but we should have kicked the ball off instead of punting after the safety.
