Still looking for a home.

Any interest? Our secondary looks banged up and seems like one of our weak spots so far.

Who knows if at this point he could be an upgrade. Just putting it out there

There was talk that if Revis was going to continue his NFL career he would have to move to free safety not a starting corner any longer. Rams currently are loaded @ free deep safety with LJ, John Johnson, Cody Davis & Blake Countess....you could make an argument that MO Alexander was way better @ free safety than where he is presently..

How you going to pay him?

Rams total Team Cap Space: $416,681

Not sure what his vet minimum is, but I am sure it's higher than $416K

Never rule anything like this out. If he can come in and contribute and not push out young ACTUAL talent, bring him in if we can find a way to afford him. He is a football player. At his worst he is still probably better than many in the NFL. If not - then don't. But it wouldn't break my heart either way.

I think the problem with Revis is that he gave poor effort last year. Teams don't want to deal with that.

A player loses a step at that position and he's toast. No thanks.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...chargers-reached-free-agent-cb-darrelle-revis

The Los Angeles Chargers recently reached out to free-agent cornerback Darrelle Revis, league sources told ESPN.

The Chargers were one of a handful of teams, according to league sources, that have contacted the seven-time Pro Bowler, who played for the New York Jets in 2016 before being released in the offseason.

One person close to Revis said this weekend that the cornerback is still expected to play in 2017, even though he has not visited any teams yet. Revis has been training in Florida and is still interested in a return to the NFL.

The Chargers made contact with Revis before they placed Jason Verretton injured reserve Saturday, which made it official that they are in need of help at cornerback. Verrett decided to undergo season-ending surgery on his left knee, a source told Schefter.

Revis has 29 interceptions over his 10-year career, including three touchdown returns. He also has made 483 tackles, two sacks, six forced fumbles and 11 fumble recoveries.

This defensive unit is still struggling to gel as it is. Bringing in new faces (an older guy at that) is only going to hurt you.

Chiefs sign Darrelle Revis

Darrelle Revis is back.

Revis, the veteran who was once the best cornerback in football, has signed with the Chiefs.

We’re excited to add Darrelle to the roster,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. “He has experience and familiarity with Bob Sutton’s defense, he’s a team guy and we feel like a player of his caliber can help our football team.”

Sutton, the Chiefs’ defensive coordinator, was the Jets’ defensive coordinator for two of Revis’s seasons in New York. So if Revis is in shape he should be ready to jump in and contribute right away.

The 32-year-old Revis hasn’t played at all this year and looked well past his prime with the Jets last year. But the Chiefs, who have lost four of their last five games after getting off to a hot start, think they need to take a chance to turn their season around and are hoping that Revis can make a difference.

Some are saying he played last year too heavy. Gonna be interesting to see what Reid and that staff can get from him, but I'll be surprised if he's even a solid #2 now.

He was slow last year. Amazing how he went from the top to the bottom so quickly. I would have worked him out after talking to him to see where his head is at. If he lost weight got some speed back he could help over Hatfield and Peterson.

Darrelle Revis excited about what he and Marcus Peters can do

The Chiefs dropped a Thanksgiving eve bombshell on the NFL with the announcement of a deal with cornerback Darrelle Revis, who has been out of the NFL since being released by the Jets ahead of the start of the 2017 league year.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said the team has been in contact with Revis for a while and that last year’s wrist injury was the reason a deal wasn’t done sooner. Reid said Revis is “ready to go now” and “looks great physically” while Revis said he has some “water weight” he expects to shed easily once he’s on the field.

That wasn’t the case last year, when Revis said he was “way over” his desired weight after having offseason wrist surgery ahead of a disappointing year with the Jets. Revis suggested that erasing that memory was part of “the fuel I have to continue to play this game at a high level” and also said he’s looking forward to sharing the field with cornerback Marcus Peters.

“He is really awesome — I love the way he plays,” Revis said, via the Kansas City Star. “He has taken the league by storm. He is a very talented player and I am excited about what we can do.”

Reid didn’t rule out Revis playing this weekend because he knows defensive coordinator Bob Sutton’s system from their time together with the Jets. He said he envisions Revis as a starter when he does get up to full speed and the Chiefs are hopeful that his full speed is close enough to his best days that their defense takes a step forward for the stretch run.

Darrelle Revis signed two-year deal, could make $10 million in 2018

Cornerback Darrelle Revis has signed with the Chiefs and will be playing for free for the next six weeks, but there’s a chance for more in the future.

The Jets are paying Revis the $6 million in guaranteed money called for in his contract and there are offsets, so the veteran minimum salary he’ll be making with Kansas City will give the Jets some financial relief while leaving Revis with the same payout. If Revis plays well enough for the Chiefs to want him back next year, the contractual details will look different.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Revis signed a two-year deal with Kansas City and that it calls for Revis to make $10 million in 2018. The Chiefs would have to decide whether to keep him by the start of the next league year as the money would become guaranteed at that point.

Rapoport reports that there are also team-based incentives in this year’s deal. He can make $1.75 million if he plays in the AFC title game and another $1.75 million if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl. Per the report, that money would not be subject to offsets so a deep playoff run would make for a nice bonus after a late start to his season.

It could be a good deal for the Chiefs if Revis has a year and half left in his legs. Vet minimum and playoff incentives is a cheap way to see what he has left in the tank. Some one to watch. Rams could have made this deal.

Chiefs release Darrelle Revis

Cornerback Darrelle Revis is a free agent once more.

The NFL’s daily transaction wire brings word that the Chiefs have released the veteran cornerback. Revis signed with the Chiefs late in the regular season and had a contract for 2018 that called for him to make an $8.8 million roster bonus and $10 million in guaranteed money overall if he was on the roster at the start of the 2018 league year.

Revis played five games for the Chiefs in the regular season and made 11 tackles. He also played in their playoff loss to the Titans and batted a Marcus Mariota pass back to the Titans quarterback that wound up as a touchdown when Mariota advanced into the end zone.

Revis said last month that he wants to continue playing, but didn’t show much more than he did during a rough 2016 season with the Jets. That could leave this as the end of the line for a player who spent several years in his first Jets stint as one of the top defensive players in the game.

Same exact things going to happen with Talib that's why I don't want to sign him

He should retire and wait for his call to the H of F!

Not sure why you would quote a post I made at the beginning of the season - but M'okay. Doesn't really seem relevant now.
