I kind of searched and didn't see anything, so sorry if it's a duplicate thread (I'm super lazy and I'm supposed to be writing a paper, so I honestly didn't try that hard).

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft...find-andy-daltons-successor-in-lamar-jackson/

CBS has us paying on Payne and Vea to select a CB named {something} Davis. I thought it was worth since everyone here seems to be in love with those two. Especially after the Peters trade, but whatever. I assume the person didn't follow the Rams... At all.

... And Tremaine Edmunds falling to #28. :banghead:

These media generated draft mocks are ridiculous without first addressing free agency. An absolute waste of time.

I really trust this regime's take on talent. But yeah, if that draft happens I think I'd lose my mind.

I saw this one too. It was a head scratcher. This assumes the Rams panic and reach at CB, but Ward is still on the board and if you hate small CBs, Oliver is as well.

The Rams would run to the podium for Edmunds and Snead's phone would likely be blowing up from the QB needy teams trying to get to Rudolph.

Just insane to think the Rams would Pass on Vea or Payne if they were there at #23!!:rolllaugh:

Cincinnati writer it would appear. Go figure he knows nothing of the Rams. His rationale is pretty weak on most of the other moves as well - including Cincy's. Oh and BUFFALO is going to take a QB with small hands. Guess they better put him in the freezer and then have him come out and throw.

It's becoming pretty apparent to me that there will be DT, Edge Rusher and C/G talent at 23 when we draft. Might be hard to trade down unless we grade them all the same and only drop a little.

Possible guys available:
DT: Harrison Philips, Maurice Hurst, maybe Da'Ron Payne
Edge: Harold Landry, Uchena Nwosu, maybe Arden Key
C/G: James Daniels, Isiah Wynn, maybe Billy Price

I'd really like to see the rams try to shore up DT in FA if possible so we could get a guy like Landry. It would still leave us with limited resources to build depth on oline but I'd love to get a pass rush talent at the end of the 1st round to pair with Quinn.

lol The Colts picking 3 times in top 6...okay.
The Browns finally have a GM with sense. Thinking they finally turn shit around up there with a no nonsense type of guy. Let's see if it really is a curse of Paul Brown! lol

I do believe Lamar Jackson is under rated but other than that bleh

If the Rams pass on Vita Vea and Payne, I’m getting a new cat

They could take a round 1 corner. There are other nose tackles in the draft that would be good fits. There could also be some in free agency. In general the Nose Tackle position is not one that teams have to draft high or pay big for. It's cap economics. With Brockers and Donald on the defensive line the long term projection at Nose Tackle would have to be a less expensive one. It would be nice to have a Wilfork at Nose Tackle but then there has to be lesser players at other positions. What I said goes out the window if McVay thinks Donald or Brockers will have declined enough in five years that paying a NT big money to stay could work out. Right now with those two in place a nose tackle doesn't need to be an all pro for the Dline to be great. He just needs to clog the middle and occupy offensive linemen. There have been a lot of late round picks that were successful Nose Tackles.

I wouldn't pass on Edmunds in that draft.

They just put out another one that has us passing on Vita and Payne again, but taking a defensive end this time.

IDK, I could see a corner or linebacker, but for us take a D lineman and pass on those two is silly.

And we also passed on Joshua Jackson. And we traded with the Seahags, and they moved down to grab Jackson. I couldn't do anything but stare at the screen. Horrible, horrible mock draft.

Wow. I didn't catch any of that when I looked at it. I just glanced at team names and players.

It's like that either is trying to out-fund himself each time.

I've looked at several CBS mocks the past few weeks and you can throw every one of them in the trash. Absolute nonsense.

P.S. Anyone who thinks Josh Allen is the best QB in this class has a drinking problem and one eye.

I don't think it is likely either of them reach 23. Especially not Payne. He was amazing in the combine and it confirmed what a physical freak he is. An edge rusher is a definite need and they are harder to find late. If a corner like Jaire Alexander is sitting there at 23 it would be hard to pass him up.

I don't think they will either, and I agree about edge rushers being a need. I think that if one of them did fall, the value would be too good to pass up.

When I check out a mock draft or even a prospect listing, I always check the date. Ain't nothing more frustrating than reading an article and then realizing it was written last November and is recycled rubbish. And then again, having built a spreadsheet to play around w/ mocks on my own. I can't even use the listing CBS put together. They have nobodies listed in the top 40 and sure fire first rounders in the 50 and 60s. (Payne is listed @42, but Mason Rudolph is @15. But I got $20 that says Payne goes in the first round and Rudolph doesn't.....)

Every year unexpected stuff happens in the draft to destroy the consensus mock drafts that are all really ripping off the few baseline ones.

But some like this one are waaaay off.
