Throughout the pre-draft season, I’ve viewed Quentin Johnson, WR, TCU as a first round prospect. I have him going to Minnesota at No. 23 on my mock.

Surprisingly, though, he was not invited to be present at the draft during day 1. Does this mean he’s dropping?

While WR is a low priority, the idea of a big (6’3, 208) and fast (4.49) guy lining up across from Cooper Kupp is intriguing.

And yes…I could definitely see Snead/McVay having their heads turned from bigger “needs” if a guy like Johnson is there.

Report is the NFL intel has him in the last 5 picks of the first round likely and they didn't want a guy sitting there for potentially 30 picks and creating camera drama. I get it and hope the kid enjoys the draft more because of it. Don't think he drops to the 2nd but stranger things have happened.

In this draft that lacks higher end WR prospects, I think he gets drafted higher then expected. I'd rather wait and grab a guy like Boutte, Scott, Rice, etc. I think there is a fair amount of depth this year, just not as much high end talent. What I'm actually terrified of is McVay seeing Tank Dell at 36 and convincing Snead to grab him another "weapon". He's actually listed as smaller then Atwell. 1" taller, but same weight, which would make him skinnier then the skinniest of guys. Not to mention, not as fast.

Should I have written this same thread about Jalin Hyatt?
